Default Taurus' replacement

Going to be getting rid of the Taurus soon and for it's replacement I'm really thinking about an Escape or Tribute. I want one with Man Trans. but they seem to be really hard to find. thoughts, opinions?

I drove my girlfriend's cousins escape to oklahoma the first time we went. it has the 3.0 V6 with an AT. It had something like 146,000 miles on it when we took and you could never tell it did. Ran good, rode good too. decent room as well. I drove it for 14-1/2 hours straight on the way back

Yeah, I just found out that's the V6 in Escape's is also a Taurus engine - the Duratec 3.0. It's a great engine just like the Vulcan 3.0 is, but the Duratec has balls!

well it depends on what you want I suppose I know my list of new cars I would consider getting is a fusion a focus ( new model is coming out soon I think so old model should be cheaper) and a mazda speed 6 (factory turbo 4 banger ftw and it can even spank a camaro i ve heard)

Been mulling it over some more and I either want a 4-cyl and man trans or the V6/auto combo. They started offered a 4 -cyl/auto in 2005 but just like a 3.0 VS. a 4.0 with our Rangers, it BARELY gets better gas mileage than the V6. Also, thinking about getting one with 4wd, which is going to make finding a 4-cyl/Man even MORE difficult Hybrid is in my mind too, but those are quite pricey even used, plus i'm not too crazy about a CVT trans. My criteria is '05 or newer, 75K miles or less and under $10K, that's not too unrealistic is it? LOL

I fell in love with the 2010 hybrid escape, from the inside it looks like you're driving a freaking hummer h1! I'm a die hard manual driver, but i didn't mind the auto transmission one bit!

I saw a couple 2005-2006 hybrids here for 11k, the model is different, but if its anything close to what i experienced, i'd say def go for it.
