The value and reliability of my 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 are what brought me back to Ford for my next vehicle, the price and reputation of the Ranger are what convinced me to buy one, and Ford's fiscal self-reliance is one of the things that make me proud to drive it down the street.

those same reasons are why my family's business has bought nearly 500 ford vehicles over the past 23 years: box trucks, vans, rangers. right now we have 85 ford vehicles and only 2 out of service, and thats because of tire wear. thats good reliability.

I got 10 years and just short of 200,000 miles out of mine with no major repairs, and would've kept it as a spare if I a) had space for it and b) didn't have to choose between the repairs it did need and starting to save for mods for the Ranger

I had always looked at Ford as a truck company. Sure, there are some people who don't like Fords, but the numbers don't lie. There's a reason why the F-Series has been the best selling truck for so long, along with the Ranger being as good as we all know it is. Ford can still outsell the competition with a tiny, outdated pickup that is still better than other more advanced mid-size trucks.

But they have come a long way in a short time, and now the quality of their cars is just as good or better than any other company. So they have gone from just specializing in trucks to having a complete lineup, and it's no coincidence that they haven't needed any federal money and are doing way better than the other two of the American 3.

I drive a Ford Ranger because it was free. That said, if it ends up DOA, I'm replacing it with another Ranger My wife had a Hyundai but replaced it with a Ford because she wanted to buy American from a car company that wasn't already taking money out of her pocket. Turns out she did good, her Fusion is a great car.

That's good to hear! Good to know you'd get another Ranger, and that your wife drives a Fusion. It really is an excellent car.
