how much do you guys think i should offer my uncle for his 96 indy 500? it has damage on the hood/windshield last year he wanted to sell it to me for $3000 but i was looking at the kbb and they say its worth $1085 in excellent condition

He's on crack if he thinks its worth $3000, I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for a sled that old, especially a 500. For comparison I payed $750 for my wifes 98 XC indy 600 in mint condition.

yea theres no way in hell im paying more than 1000 but i just wanted to see what everyone else thought because theres some on kijiji for like 2500 but in mint cond.

a few things to consider are how many miles it has, has the track ever been replaced, motor ever rebuilt, suspension gone through (shocks rebuilt, bogey wheels, hyfax, carbides ect) all of those are things i would have to consider before i buy a sled. hell a good track and some studs can cost over $700 so if it needs a new track i would offer less for the sled.

its at our place now, he lives like 6 hours away, the track looks decent but thats all i know about it from there, it runs strong, dunno if its ever been rebuilt or anything, he bought it rode it lik 3 times and parked it here. he did manage to roll it on his first ride and crack the windshield and the hood though
