Yup, its frozen solid in my girlfriend's '05 Civic. Mine was frozen as well, but mine was low enough to dump De-icing stuff in it to get it to melt, her's on the other hand was all but full, I tried the de-icing stuff in there too but it didnt work.

Anybody have any idea's? Or am I just going to have to stand out there with a hair dryer for 2 hours? It would be ideal if I could park it in a heated garage over night but i dont have that luxury. She's starting to get ornery because I haven't gotten this fixed yet.

Maybe let the motor run for a bit. If I remember right civics have a small engine Co.apartment so it might warm up quick and melt it

Probably gonna need the hair dryer or a small electric heater (be real careful of course) or maybe wrap a heating pad around the reservoir (if you can get to it) for a few minutes.
If you can put her off another day... you could duct tape a bunch of hand warmers on there to thaw it out.

Not really recommended to put water into the washer fluid reservoir. If you have an electric kettle..fill it..boil the water..let it cool maybe a bit and and slowly pour some on the outside with the lid on to keep the water out. Only thing here is the water may quickly freeze as it continues below towards the ground if it's really cold out still..possibly causing other problems. Ideally one of you may know someone who would let you put the Civic in their garage for a while? Another possibility is to remove the container and take it inside if it can be done easily. However you end up doing it get rid of all the old fluid...run the washer dry with some proper fluid in the container..nowhere near filled as the last step. It is worth spending a little bit more on premium -40 fluid..not generic cheap stuff. Same with wipers..there are several new frameless types that work great in the winter. Don't go for the Armour-all(?) ones with 2 yr warranty. I bought them and they chatter..took pressure off more than once..same thing..they advise/warn against using silicone containing fluids..a possible fix..since that will wreck them. Go for almost any except them.

It does have a relatively small engine compartment but we took it to Cabela's and back yesterday and nothing. Thats about 30 minutes each way so it was up to temp.

That hand warmer thing might be a good idea if I can get to the resevoir. For some reason I think its behind the front bumper.

Im not sure that would work quick enough to melt it all the way through?

In the summer, my mom got this Peak Eco stuff. It looks like the normal Peak washer fluid but it has a green label instead of a blue label. Well the shit is terrible. in the summer it would almost foam on your windshield. I thought we used all of it, but i guess not. this is the first time this has ever happened.

Never experienced this before. Have always used windshield washer fluid that was good down to -35 to -40 deg C year round.

I have done it on other cars, dump some hot water in it then add the de-icing fluid so it can break through

My advice is to follow what the others have said. And to add, once you get it thawed, use the rain X peach colored stuff. It has an antifreeze agent in it.

I use this stuff year round, its costly but in winter time when your following traffic it seems like the windows are constantly getting gunked up, and regular fluid freezes as soon as it hit the windsheild.

Get an electric blanket and stuff it in under ther bumper around the resivour. And put. It on high for several hours.

not impossible though. Isn't there any room to add a little more to the tank(s)? Rubbing alchohol, acetone(I think?) and de-icing stuff from an auto supply chain store if you can at least add an ounce or more may do it. Get it unthawed and run the tank(s) dry..ad a bit of proper winter fluid and run it dry again...then fill it up. Here is an example of some good winter fluid...good for -34F....some are only good for -24F so aren't good enough freeze protection.
