Default Looking into a new Camera

Christmas is right around the corner and my Grandma wants to get me a camera for Christmas (since I don't take any pictures while im here at college) I'm looking for a decent camera that will take nice pictures with an SD Card. Anyone have any suggestions?

Honestly open to anything! Let me know!

The canon Rebels are a good camera for the beginner with room to grow. Depends on how much you have to spend and if all you are looking for is a point and shot.

The Rebel can be used as a P&S camera as well as take it out of program mode and use your own settings. It has interchangeable lenses as well for when you have developed your skills.

If you want a DSLR
Canon Sxi 12.8 MP
Canon t1I 15.1 MP plus HD video
Canon t2i 18 MP plus HD video

If you’re looking for P&S camera
Nikon – one of the many coolpix series.
Canon - G series

If your looking for a good Nikon DSLR, Here are your options

D3000
D5000

Both are great starting cameras for DSLR's.

If you want a P&S, Go with what the guy before me said.
