Default engine help with my expedition

Coming home from an art show yesterday we started to smell gas. Pulled off into a gas station and looked under the truck and gas is pouring out form under it. Right by where the trans bolts to the engine.

The truck ran fine as far as no spitting and sputtering.

I though broken fuel line but thought that would starve the engine for fuel and it would run bad.

is it possible that the fuel rail loose? When I did my COP one of the bolts for the fuel rail had broke. Just wondering if this would casue the last injector to rise out of the head...? How much pressure is normally on the fuel rail, enough to push the injector out...?

Its snowing like a bitch right now, not looking forward to going out to look around, so I thought Id get some advice before venturing out!

Thanks

fuel leak might be near a fuel rail, gas will puddle on the intake and run off the back, injector O ring, regulator, connection to fuel rail?

A little too much for anyone to diagnose from far away man...even my psychotic (she thinks she is 'PSYCHIC'..WRONG!!!! AGAIN!!!) ex-wife to do. You will save time and money if you get your ass out there in the snow and look for the leak. Fuel rail..maybe...my 87 Ranger..2.3L..EFI had a bad leak at one time but a fuel rail leak plus a f***ed injector.

yeah Im getting bundled up now to head out, I think that the injector probably popped up, the leaking was coming from the pass side anyhow. looks like 45 psi is what the fuel rail runs, that might be enough to pop the injector out. I will report back later when/if i get it fixed.

So turns out that the fuel rail was the problem. It was up about 1/4" on #4. I tapped it back down and put a 2" C-clamp on the tab where the mount is to hold it down.

I don't think I can get a drill in there to drill it out so this will have to do for now.
