Any machinist out there?
Looking to have a photographic panoramic mount made. Basic 3/8” flat stock aluminum drawing to follow.

Don't know what it would cost to machine but I can tell you aluminum is easy to work. You can use common woodworking tools. So if you could build this out of wood, you could probably make it in aluminum too.

I could maxhine that but I would need to know the radius of the slot that you want in it. Do you have the material?

TONS of good 4x4 shops out your way. I would give one of them a ring.

I do not have the material. it could be 1/4" stock. the arc would be the same as a 16" oval chinet plate and the inner slot would be the same radius just 1/2" back from the edge.

Re: Any machinist out there?
thanks for the reply. do you have a guess on $$$.
let me see if I can do it in wood first without getting to thick. I have a pretty heavy camera so I know 1/4" wood will bow a bit I can get exact mesurments that way also.
I will let you know in a week or so.

ive never really done any side work like this so im not sure what to charge. the aluminum will cost about $20-30 and i would want like $20 to machine it, it would take me about an hour or so. just let me know. if i remember ill get a quote for material tomorrow, it might be cheaper.

sounds good $40 - 60 works. I'll let you know what I come up with.
