But you really can tell the idiots lol I don't get the prejudice against them either. But to each their own I guess. I'd hire guys with tats as long as they are qualified to do the job, as far as I'm concerned.

i grew up with all the punk kids in town, so it was inevitable that i would get them, im glad i didnt cover myself in ink when i was 18, my first tat was a janky ass anarchist A on the palm of my hand, did it at lunch my sophomore yeah in HS, now i have like 6 or 7 and some piercings, still like getting tatted but i keep them covered for work purposes. and in no way do i get into those asian sleeves or anything like that, if i get a tat its for something or because of something.

I hear that.. Asian stuff is a huge trend now just like tribal was in the 90s. I have nothing against it. Just not my thing!

But when people come in and ask for a tattoo on their neck or hands, I ask them what other tattoos they have. If they dont have a sleeve's worth or a TON of other tattoos, I talk them out of it. They throw their lives away for one tattoo and become unemployable. When I see guys or girls with a tattoo on the side of their nech and no other tattoos...even I with all the tattoos I have look at them like they are idiots and I would never hire them. Its hoodrat looking. It is a stupid idea.

But when a guy who has a ton of tattoos asks me to tattoo their throat, neck or hands, I ask them if they are ready to take the leap. I will do it for them with honor. They have an understanding of what it is like to live with prejudice and have a respect for the life style. Not just trying to make a statement.

well said, i have a few friends that pierce and tat, i think a huge part of being a good artist is when to say no. a lot of young kids dont think things through... i know i didnt, luckily i got away pretty much un scathed...
