new rant-this really got me back to thinking 80+ yrs old=no drivers license!.2 days ago i ran to littlestown to pay a guy the rest the $ for my bseries motor thats goin in my civic..well on the way back i turn on bon-ox rd and i get up to speed,40ish mph goin back to my town i work in and i see a late 80s station-wagon sitting in a driveway
I think "ya they see me coming"as they were just sitting there for like 15 seconds as i get closer....suddenly the old bitch and her old counter part in the pass-seat just pull right out in front of me,like 20 ft in front of me,i slammed on the brakes,locked em up cuz i heard tire squealing and down shifted real quick,saving my truck and her car,ik if id of hit the bitch id be in adams county prison right now for beating an old woman with parts of her own car!
The driver just plods off like i'm not even there up to her top speed(5-10mph UNDER the limit),while her passenger looks back at me and you can tell she wasnt too happy..well me pissed as i was(if words killed,that bitch woulda been buried) floor it and tail gate this old bitch,IK IK its not the smart thing to do but,angry thoughts dont = rational thought..so i follow this woman,seemingly unaware of what she did right on her bumper till she turns(complete with signal 1/4 mile before the turn -_-)..i prodede to flip her off as i drive by..im aware of the saying "two wrongs dont make a right".. but god damn motherfucking old drivers whome shouldnt be driving piss me off

oh and i have a pic..just cuz i like to FB things like this

^ I'm afraid to tailgate other drivers for fear that if he/she slams on the brakes, then I'd be at fault for an accident. That is an old wagon, and too bad you couldn't get the picture of the license plate to post also.

Similar thing happened to me driving my moms new car. Thankfully she has the brightest HID's I've ever seen (infiniti g37). It was night time, so I proceeded by driving behind them 12 under the speed limit with my brights on until the doucher pulled over. Makes me want to get a rigid industries led light bar on my bumper along with my HIDs

I don't mean this to be a dick but would it be A bad idea to make people have to take another driving test when they reach a certain age? For the sake of them, their passengers, others, and others cars!

I believe that drivers should be retested after a certain time limit with a license and not necessarily after reaching a certain age. That way, bad habits could be stopped sooner. It is definitely a big question for debate, but if there is a limit to how old an individual has to be, which I believe to be 16 years old in most states, then there has to be an upper limit to being too old and not having proper reflexes. States could charge money to retest, hire more employees in the process, and overall, some very bad drivers could be taken off the road for good. I see it as solely a win-win situation.

its a fear of mine too but at that point i was sooo pissed that rational thought went out the window..i tried to get a pic of the plate,from were i was driving i could see it,but my current phone sucks and well resulted in above,my old phone could of got the plate.

@ Bold-i agree 10000%,there should be a certain age..75+ id say were you have to re-test for your license,taking into account the years of driving of course but the basics def ,if you fail,you dont drive till you pass,if you pass congrats you stay on the road.

Im sure you'll be able to talk to her from time to time and when you do, do not under any circumstances argue or fight or bicker or any stupid bullshit like that with her. You'll drive yourself crazy for the next however long till you talk to her again.

Well my folks got a new stackable washer and dryer a couple years ago as a payment of one of my sisters debts to them. Well they gave the old one to my other sister, she never hooked it up. its propane, i use nat gas so i didnt want to dink with switching it over for my broken washer and my girlfriend doesnt want to use a stackable as she is short. Well taking the stackable apart because it hasnt been used in years and i dont want to give someone the shit end of a craigslist deal i started to scrap it, low and behold the motor and transmission fit my washer perfectly. Have a happy gf and happy parents because they put a new motor in it about 2 years before they got the new one.

Ironically, an article was recently written about how the individual states deal with older drivers. It is very difficult since driving is a privilege and not a right, and who (or what agency) has the authority to say enough is enough, and when. I think that it would be easier to target younger drivers and work the age up vs. starting at an older age, such as 55 years old and working down. It is amazing how there is wide variation amongst the states as to how they handle older driving renewals, but with the senior population at the oldest level ever and rising, it is somewhat comforting to know that there are people that see the need to make the roads safer by instituting some methods. I'll wait... the only change I've seen is what's left of my paycheck when he gets done golfing and taking vacations. Oh, and the biggest national deficit/unemployment rate this country has ever seen.
