Bidding? What the hell kind of job is it? And it's funny how you go to the Happy thread down here to the Vent lol. Isn't supposed to be the other way around?

An older couple wanted some work done on their house, but like me they are Jewish and want the lowest price possible. They told me they called 5 contractors to get a quote, and me and Zack were obviously the cheapest even though he got it, lol. I absolutely hate bidding jobs because I usually end up screwing myself in the long run and almost never make a profit if I count my time (sometimes there over an hour and since I did it on a bid, I can't say "well, I'm adding another $20 to your bill for my extra hour" unless I specify that, which I didn't on this one).

And yeah, I probably should have vented first, but today was a great day and I can't complain much.

No, don't say that.
I don't have any pics, insurance has them.

At least I don't run from my accidents and have to do community service. and btw no, no drift fail. That's one thing I can say I actually learned how to drift from you, and you're pretty damn good at it.

and maybe I will buy a ranger. Maybe not.

My laptop is a piece of fuckingggg shiitttttt. I hate it. The hinge is snapped. Power button dont work. Space key doesn't always work (thats why my words are fucked up sometimes), the "p" key is gone, its just a nub. I'd buy an new one, but I'm trying to save up to either pimp the Ranger or buy a second set of wheels.

no offence, but I hear aveos cost money since their reliability ir really poor, I rather have 14 MPG and regular maintenance then change a tranny and Head gasket every few thousand miles.

I screwed up, lady had no brake lights, I hit her, she came at me, I bounced. I paid my dues, and learned from in. That's all really.

All that is under warrantfree. That being said, once my Cougar is fixed, I'm gunna sell it and buy another ZX2, rather have the mileage of a 4 banger than in a heavy, underpowered car with little aftermarket support. And the only Aveo I would ever drive is the Vette powered Aveo5 I built in Forza.

----------

Also, anyone else have issues with the damn side clips that come with Wagner pads? They keep rubbing against my rims and its startin to piss me off. Along with my t-case issue and some weird vibration that starts at 40. Fuck this shit sometimes.

That. I would never buy an aveo again. They are worth nothing. You put more money into the car then you did paying for it.

BTW, the story of the dog... I don't know how to quote it, so just click it.

LOWELL — Lake County Sheriff’s Department personnel raided a rural Lowell home Friday afternoon, where they found 19 dogs living in feces more than a foot deep while their owner lived inside her car.

Authorities also said they found 15 dead animals wrapped in plastic in a freezer.

Though they wore hazmat suits, chemical masks and knee-high rubber boots, workers were overcome by the stench when they opened the door to the modest frame home on West 245th Avenue, just east of Schneider. Inside they found piles of garbage, overturned furniture and cushions torn to shreds.

Police rescued the animals while the 62-year-old female owner was at work, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Cmdr. Robert Arnold said. Arnold declined to name the owner pending charges of animal cruelty. The department expects the charges will be filed on Monday.

Workers included veterinarian Rachael Jones of Southlane Animal Hospital in Valparaiso, Anne Sterling of the Humane Society of the United States, representatives of the Lake County Fire Chiefs Association and the Lake County Hazmat Team. They gently carried each dog outside, marked each with an identification collar and checked them for any injuries.

They patted and talked to the dogs, who all appeared docile but frightened, and placed them in carriers. They were taken to the sheriff’s Lake County Animal Control Center for evaluation. None appeared to be emaciated, although some looked like they had mange, a worker said.

Police have spent three weeks preparing for the rescue, Lake County Sheriff John Buncich said. It came about after neighbors complained of the smell and reported the dogs’ owner appeared to have been living inside her car for at least three years. She bred the dogs inside the house and sold the puppies, Buncich said.

Next-door neighbor Dawn Martin said her children could not play in the yard, and her husband couldn’t grill outside sometimes because of the stench coming from next door.

“I feel bad, but it’s not livable in the house,” Martin said, adding she had brought her neighbor a plate of food one holiday as she sat in her car.

“I’ve never seen a case this bad,” said Sheriff’s Deputy Michelle Weaver, who heads up the Animal Cruelty Task Force, and has worked animal control for eight years.

Weaver said the dogs’ owner would be asked to relinquish the animals so they could be put up for adoption. Weaver said the Lake County Health Department would be called to the house, which appeared to have structural problems.

“It’s uninhabitable,” Weaver said, adding that the Adult Protective Services Bureau would be called to offer services to the owner to address any issues that led to her situation.

Buncich said the rescue was part of a new push in the county to cut down on animal cruelty and neglect.

“This is just the beginning,” Buncich said. “We have other cases in the works that will be vigorously prosecuted.”
