Almost got a 2 for getting on the freeway, while merging onto the 180-168 interchange a guy in a Colorado pulling a trailer tried to speed up and get ahead of me even though I was already entering the lane ahead of him so I had to go into the emergency lane, then a lady in a Toyota for some reason got on the brakes and slowed to 40. All of this happened within a 1/2 mile.

Should have invoked the usual method that is used in the Seattle region when this happens. Specifically, jump on the gas (or just wood it) stand your ground and enter traffic (or do your lane change). Reason one must be assertive is, if you whimp out and back off, not only will the person trying to cut you off take full advantage of the situation, but so will most everyone else that notices a driver being timid in traffic. Nice, friendly people until they get behind the wheel of a car, then the teeth show and the growling is loud.

+5, done correctly.

One of the many types of weirdos that sometimes amaze (and potentially annoy) are the ones that I refer to as the "scared to be alone" driver. These are the ones who, when you are out and about, going the speed limit and maybe then some, they crawl up on your ass and won't leave. You speed up, they speed up. You slow down, they slow down. You go five under the limit, they go five under the limit. Or 10 under. They just can't take a hint, lol. WTF. Scared to be alone.

Anyone merging onto the freeway must yield the right of way, unless otherwise posted.

That being said, there's a lot of fucktards that get pissed people try to merge in or slow for a ramp...yet...they never ride the middle lane or move over!

Without mentioning screenames, I'm aware of a person (in southern CA) who thought it would be great to step on it and cut off a car trying to merge into traffic on the freeway. With his lifted F-350, he left some great tire marks on the side of VW that was trying to merge into freeway traffic and the lane ended. The outcome was, the driver of the F-350 experienced a hike in insurance premiums after the event and the law didn't like it much either; looks like deliberately and conspicuously making life suck for people trying their best to politely merge into traffic can bite in the butt. Painfully.

Moral of the story: you cannot go around deliberately causing accidents, even if you are in the *right*.

I'd be very surprised, it's been awhile now and the forum that he told the story on has been down for about a year. Still....makes for laughs.

Each chapter does events and raises money for local and state charities and other organizations, and we fight for motorcycle rights.
Right now one law going thru Minnesota is the Road Guard Bill. It allows trained members to be Road Guards and stop traffic for long motorcycle rides/parades for safety issues.

Another bill that just got passed that we helped was the vertical license plate law. Alot of custom bikes would mount their plates vertical and not horizontal. So the letters/numbers would be vertical. This is illegal. But now bikers that want this can get custom vertical plates with horizontal numbers/letters.

We even have a mile of local highway we keep clean..the adopt a highway program.

Our chapter also provides assistance with training for the motorcycle road course at the college..
We also help out with the local habitat for humanity, building houses for low income families
We also do escorts for fallen soldiers and police officer funerals.
So the chapter is a great community asset...and we put on a huge motorcycle and car show every spring that makes alot of $$$ that we eventually use for charities and giving back to the community. So its not really a club or gang.

Heres an article about one of our founding fathers, Howie "Santa" ..he past away in May.

Just because you'd be finishing a chapter of your life, doesn't mean the next won't any less fulfilling
