Is the other company an outside source? I could see how it would be a decent thing for a standing memeber to donate. My buddies that were in a riding group with myself donated shirts to all the members. He even paid someone else to make them...

The other company is an outside source. A much larger company and they would be the ones with the means to donate..they could afford to donate 100+ shirts.
I am a home based business, i cant afford to donate like that. I may be able to donate 1-2 shirts but not 100+.

And they always talk about supporting local small business...but yet want my local small business to donate

All im saying...if u had a friend that had a business would you go to him and support his business...or go to his big big competition and support them?

Go to the big company and order 100 shirts at $20 each.
or go to your friend who can do them for $15 and support his small business. Or go to that same friend and tell him..we want you to donate 100 shirts...if you dont want to, we will just buy them from the other place.

its a slap in the face.

I can see where gc is coming from. If a friend came up to me and asked me to donate something, And I told him I financially couldn't, and he went and bought from my competition I would be pretty mad too.

Im about to...if they dont pay for the hosting and website...im taking it down and im done.
These guys i ride with are supposed to be my friends, the president himself and others were at my wedding and reception. Ive had them over to my house many times, soent many nights around campfires with these guys.
It hurts so much that they slap me in the face like this.

And the chapter has money, over $20k in the bank. They are always giving money to charities and other members in need.
One guy lost his job and was about to sell his Harley to pay his mortgage...they donated $4,000 last year to help him so he wouldn't have to sell his beloved bike

I never understood the attraction to motorcycle clubs. Sons of Anarchy is one thing, real life? Nah.

A guy stopped me in a store once when I was wearing my jacket and carrying my helmet. I basically just smiled and nodded while he told me about how to join...I mean, be their bitch for a year and see if you're worthy. Lol

Obviously the way they acted, they don't care, Glen. I would move on

Its not an actual "club" its a chapter one of many throughout the state. ABATE stands for American Bikers for Awareness Training and Education. Every state has this organization.
There are 28 chapters in Minnesota.
Each chapter does events and raises money for local and state charities and other organizations, and we fight for motorcycle rights.
Right now one law going thru Minnesota is the Road Guard Bill. It allows trained members to be Road Guards and stop traffic for long motorcycle rides/parades for safety issues.

Another bill that just got passed that we helped was the vertical license plate law. Alot of custom bikes would mount their plates vertical and not horizontal. So the letters/numbers would be vertical. This is illegal. But now bikers that want this can get custom vertical plates with horizontal numbers/letters.

We even have a mile of local highway we keep clean..the adopt a highway program.

Our chapter also provides assistance with training for the motorcycle road course at the college..
We also help out with the local habitat for humanity, building houses for low income families
We also do escorts for fallen soldiers and police officer funerals.
So the chapter is a great community asset...and we put on a huge motorcycle and car show every spring that makes alot of $$$ that we eventually use for charities and giving back to the community. So its not really a club or gang.
