I don't know, does 2 car lengths at 70 constitute three seconds? I would have probably used 4 seconds if I knew my rig took longer to stop. Just saying. At least you didn't hit him. I didn't know an 18 wheeler could stop that quick.

Hahaha I don't remember the specifics but it was very fast! And I always keep pretty far spacing knowin anything can happen at any time. But if anybody else was behind him and decided to look away for a second they woulda been dead!

Another rant about work.

Here at this place it seems nothing changes, any new ideas and suggestions are thrown out the window. Its the old "we've been doing it this way for 18 years..why change?"
They don't want to improve and find more ways to be productive and efficient.
On the face they say they do. They bring in outside people to give classes on improving and being better..but now that those classes are over. ..its back to the old ways.
Those of us that took these classes and have new ideas and ways to make the place more efficient...well we get ignored or fired.

Yep fired.
One of my coworkers who works upstairs at a cubicle, a technical manual writer for our equipment, she got fired.
She had been with the company maybe 2 years now.
She was one who took these classes and had ideas make the business more productive and efficient and organized.

Well after ruffling enough feathers trying to get changes made....someone higher up who is well set in their ways and doesn't want to change made the decision to fire her.

So me and some other coworkers have agreed, its better to be a mindless worker and not try to make things better or improve the company...follow in suite or get fired.

Thats going to be hard for me to do...cuz im smart and when i see something that i can improve and make better...i try my best to do it.

For example....we have certain mounts that we use on every machine. Yet every machine we have to make them and make them from stainless steel instead of regular steel and have plated. Theres no reason these small parts cant be made in batches of 20 and kept in the stock room with all the other machined parts we use a ton of.
But the lady in charge says no. Theres no need.
When i know there is a need and it would save the company time and money to have these already on hand.

Another example is rolls of airline.
We go thru so much airline and we are always ordering more and having to wait a week for one roll to come in....because the lady will only order 1 roll at a time. Theres a spot in the stock room for the roll...but we keep the roll out on the floor. So why not have 2 rolls, one on the floor and one in the stockroom. So when the roll on the floor gets empty we can order another roll and take the spare from stock room and not have to wait a week to continue our project.
Inventory rotation...not a hard concept.

ahh stupid people who are in charge annoy me.

Glenn,
Unfortunately it seems to me at least the more stupid you are the quicker you get promoted, if you ruffle the feathers & rock the boat you get fired.

Today my Kyocera torque stopped working, I tried for an hour to turn it back on, I checked all of the battery contacts and still nothing. I went home and got my old galaxy out of the desk and had it reactivated, then when I got home i took the memory card out of the torque and tried it again well it works now.

I'm selling my home gym to this lady, and we agreed on the price of $600. She sends me a text today saying that she only has $500 and the banks are closed and she wants know if that will work. I tell her that I can't do 500, but when she has an extra hundred dollars she can come pick the weights up. But since I've already moved everything downstairs the garage, I would sell them to her for 550.
She then replied that she can do 550. But wait, I thought all she had was $500? If she had the extra $50 why did she just say that she only had 550?
I just don't know why people can't haggle you down honestly. If she had text me a few days ago asking if I could do 550, I wouldn't have had any problems with that. But instead she has to lie and claim that she doesn't have enough money. Watch her show up with only $500 now. I'd be so pissed, I would just tell her to go home.
