So I just got my puppy back!!!
She showed up at my friends house where I had left the night she fell out of my truck. She's a little skinnier but no injuries! She was whining and squalling and yelping while trying to lick my face when I got to their house. She was missing for 8 days! I almost cried!

Well if I knew that I would have seen it happen. I picked her up, put her in the bed of my ranger, my gf drove home since I had been drinking and she wasn't there when I got home. We went all of 5 miles. I think one of the other dogs bumped her and she fell out. She hadn't ever jumped out of the bed before that.

Glad you got your dog back, but NEVER put your dog in the back of a pick up without it being tied in.

I wouldnt put my dog in the bed of my truck, he has the whole rear bench seat to himself

Because in the event of a roll over then a dog is almost guaranteed to die. Some people here had it happen a while back. One dog stayed tied in and died the other busted free and lived. I have more than one dog. They're all trained hunting dogs. I left a friends house where we were training their pups and I was just starting this pup. I don't live in the city or "country" I live in the mountains. Typically I have a dog box which is a custom built two sided aluminum crate for the bed but I took too many dogs to use it that day.
