Here's my vent and It's my own ******* fault:

I already had an amp and subs and everything from my last vehicle to install my system so I went ahead and did it when I got my new head unit.

Everything was running good but I couldn't stand the lights dimming. I didn't feel like dropping the cash right now to upgrade my big 3 until I get more money in to other aspects of my truck (ignition, intake, exhaust, stuff like that) but I HATE the dimming lights. So against my better judgement I installed a capacitor. The thing works great for keeping the headlights from dimming but the damn subs keep cutting out whenever I crank the volume for too long. I know the amp isn't overheating because it never gets a chance to heat up before it cuts off.

Here's the part where I really screwed up: when I installed the cap, I cut the power cable too short to reach the amp so now I get to choose between splicing the power cable or pulling off the trim again and running a new one. I figure I might as well run a new power cable since I'll need to do that down the road but either way, the dimming lights are going to bug the crap out of me.

I'm half-tempted to just pull out the whole system until I decide to upgrade my big 3 but I'm also the type of person who can't stand leaving jobs like this unfinished. DAMN!!!!

On a lighter note, if this is all I have to vent about, life is pretty good.

Well guys, I had a great day. But my cousin (brother of the one that died next to me in Afghanistan 2 years ago) came to the house. He came and accused me of being the reason his brother is dead. Which I can understand. We were clearing buildings and I had point. Passed through the first few rooms with no issue. Then in the fourth, a guy popped out from the stairs and shot me in the right leg. I fell and lost my aim. That guy shot the man behind me. He was my cousin. Then a big ambush came down on us and we tried to defend ourselves. But the other two men died and I barely made it back to base alive. If I hadn't have fallen, my cousin would still be alive. So, this guy came to my house and told me that he wished I had died instead of his brother.

Yay.

Gotta love family.
