Re: The Offical Vent Thread.
Just called to see how much it is to join a gym (not like Gold's Gym), one that has a pool. Its like 50.00 - 100 bucks a month unless I join a workout program. All I want is to use the damn pool.

Thats what I thought, especially since the only thing I want out of it is to use the pool. I have severe SAN Palsy and was told getting in a pool by myself might help a bit.
And of course when I called they wanted me to sign up for a shit ton of things or not at all. When I ask about the pool they said it was booked for classes from 5a to 11p. They are open 24 hours and I don't sleep but maybe a few hours a night but still, I can't pay that kind of price just for a few days a week.
Not to mention I don't want to use it with other people around because I know that the water being sturred up would hurt me.

Re: The Offical Vent Thread.
Ok, my vet thoroughly pissed me off today... I "needed" to drop Tater off by 8:30am... so which I was there and dropped him off by 8:15am... spent the whole day (to which I had to use a vacation day) listening to Rocky bark in the house because he's not used to being alone, they tell me to call them at 3:00pm to check and see how the surgery went. So I call at 3:00... for them to tell me that he's doing ok but he wont go into to surgery for another 10-15 minutes... WTF?!? Why the fuck did he need to be there by 8:30am if the surgery wasnt until 3:15? To which she replied " We had a staff meeting today "... you had a 7 hour staff meeting today? Is that what youre telling me? I couldve worked till at least 2pm and only had to burn 2 hours of vaca instead of 10... what the fuck

While changing oil on the Ranger Saturday, I notice one front shock absorber wet with oil. They were installed just over 6 months ago!

Can you call local hotels with pools and see how much it is to use their pool? A lot of hotels offer use of their pools for pretty cheap.

If you had them professionally installed, then you can make a warranty claim. I would imagine that you would be covered since most shops offer a warranty on their work, correct? When I have work done, the receipt usually reflects 3 or 6 month or 6,000 mile guarantee. How many miles do you travel?

she should have told you the real reason... From working in clinics surgeries are typically scheduled during lunch time. We ask they be dropped off in the morning so a) we have the guarantee that they haven't eaten anything b) we have plenty of time to do a brief exam before surgery and c) if schedule allows we start surgery early. They probably started their meeting at the time they would usually start surgery. What was he in for?

I had two surgeries last year, and it doesn't always go like clockwork. Besides, patients can lie and say, "I haven't eaten after 1 A.M." when indeed they ate last at 4:30. I believe that the hospitals/surgeons don't want patients late, but we can end up waiting for them. My first surgery last year was scheduled for 9 A.M., and I was to be there at 8:00 to undress and all that jazz. They woke me up at 6:15 A.M. to tell me to come in earlier (which I did), and nothing out of the ordinary but by the time they "got with it", my surgery was at the scheduled time. The second surgery I was mad because it was at a different center, and I even commented to the nurse after undressing that I should be upstairs ready for surgery since it was supposed to be at 10:15 (and I had gotten there at 9:00). I didn't even get wheeled up until after 11:00 A.M., and then they were backed up on top of that. Two patients were still waiting to see the same doctor, and I think it was 1:00 p.m. or later before I got taken into the OR. I hadn't eaten since midnight, and I was getting restless and cranky. That is the hospitals business to make sure things go smoothly and to schedule accordingly. I can understand getting there early, but over two hours, and having them run late on top of that is inexcusable.

No, I have always done my own shocks and struts.
I'm just going to buy a replacement. Monroe's warranty on thier Monro-Matic line is a pathetic 90 days.

I'm not sure if this sentence is in reference to your story or to the one I responded to.... you do know we're talking about animals right? It's handled a little different... I mean, if you had someone show up at the time of the surgery they'd want to wait and take their dog home immediately.... most people don't know how to properly care for their animals when coming out of anesthesia... it's also nice to have the pet in a cage so that if you're running early or late, technically no one would know and therefore the owner wouldn't be upset. We typically only gave a pickup time and no other information, that way we could change our schedule as needed. I had many times we had to work in an emergency and rooms had to be shuffled in order to complete scheduled surgeries.

I must have missed a couple posts because no I had no idea that we were talking about animals. I was refering to my surgery, so I apologize.
