Same here... I'm proficient at many tasks due to helping my dad run his company for years but apparently without pretending I did one task specifically or saying I went to school for one of those skills it means nothing....

Thank you work for wasting and entire day, instead of being productive and getting ahead on a couple projects I had to sit through eight hours of training that only 15 minutes of actually applied to me.

The training today was the equivalent of teaching 25 guys how to launch a nuclear missile when only 5 guys will ever do it, and the other 20 guys only need to learn to throw a fucking rock. Which we already know how to do. Not to mention spending $20,000, that is right a 20 with three more zeros on equipment that will do no fucking good. Then spending who knows what to fly 4 guys in to train us on this equipment that we don't fucking need.

To get a job these days, you have to call them and show up in person asking about the status of your app over and over and over again. It will show the employer that you are serious about getting the job which shows initiative.

I have had no luck with pestering the Human Resources managers, because in this economy, they get pestered by a large amount of people, and they get sick of it real quickly. Finding a job is just like the state lottery, it's a game of chance. Play often, apply often, and eventually something will come to you. Keep your eyes and ears open at all times. And make sure you thank the hell out of everyone who interviews you, make good contact, shake their hand, and DO NOT TELL THEM THAT STEALING FROM THE COMPANY SHOULD RECEIVE A WARNING FOR A FIRST OFFENSE. I couldn't believe that the majority of those who were at the first interview for seasonal positions at Kohls said exactly that.

Quit complaining about your sprained ulna bone in your arm. I broke both of my wrists and my ankle, and what did I do? I kept my fucking mouth shut. Nobody gives a damn about your arm, and whining isn't gonna get rid of it. So suck it up, and move on with your day.

I seriously hate people soooooo much. I can NOT wait to get my own place by myself. I am absolutely physically incapable of having any compassion for anyone currently in my life, and unless someone amazing comes into my life, I am going to live my life far away from humanity. I don't care about anybody's problems, and I absolutely hate having to spend my non-renewable source of income on shit that has nothing to do with me. People really need to learn to think about the damn future and think "What if" and prepare for changes and make sure that they choose the career that allows them to live a comfortable life. And if you don't live a comfortable life, then accept the fact that you failed, DEAL WITH IT, and learn to live with what you have and what you can afford, and don't try to bring down other people because that's a one way ticket to losing those people you bring down.

I have turned into a complete hermit. Idk if it's that I'm working 7 days a week right now or if its that people piss me off to no extent. But I just realized I have no social life anymore.
When my friends come home from college, all they want to talk about is all the theme parties they've been to, who's pregnant, who's on drugs now... I couldn't give two flying fucks, honestly.
It pisses me off that my friends my age still have the maturity levels they did back in high school. grow the fuck up. When they ask me to hang out and go to a party all night... sure I'd love to go. But no, I have a dog at home and a job to go to in the morning. No, I can't stay out all night. Then they get pissed, thinking I'm making up excuses because I don't want to go.

I need to gtfo of my hometown, NOW.

Tell me about it. I was born here and I still hate the hot weather. I have northern blood so I prefer the cold.

Wow. I hate thieves. Also, I used to work retail (a couple different jobs), and I had a conversation with one of the managers who said, "I can't believe those videos we watch that claim up to 60% of theft is internal". I said, "Are you kidding me? We have access to the stockrooms, the merchandise in the counter, the trucks, etc. Did you think that customers would have better access? I can't believe how bold some people are (customers or not) who don't think that with all the cameras in use that they will get caught.

To get back to your post, it actually happened recently at a company near where I live. I was reading the police blotters, and someone with access to the company's finances wrote a check(s) to themself for about $3000. He was caught, and I guess the company figured that the only way to get the money back was if he were employed, so instead of firing him, they kept him there with the understanding that the money would be paid back. After the specified time was up, he failed to make restitution, so they turned him into the police and promptly fired him. In some ways, I commend the company, eventhough they took a risk keeping him employed.
