My carry piece is a Springfield xd 40 sub compact. Fantastic pistol that is dead nuts accurate. I was concerned about it being a little snappy being a SC but no problems. Had it for a few years now and is the perfect conceal weapon, for me anyways.

Be careful ar's are addictive

Tell me about it. My Dad has 3 of them and I have shot them a lot. You can do so much with those rifles.

That's what I'm going for, almost there.

Thought about it but decided not to. Can't feel it when I run my finger over it its just an eye sore.

Dark walnut stain and the shine is Tru Oil. https://www.birchwoodcasey.com/Refin...ck-Finish.aspx

Picked up a gen 4 Glock 20 today to replace my 19 as my carry gun. My 19 has become a range gun due to all of its modifications. Mainly the super short trigger

just remember, little bumps like that aren't eye sores, they're stories. weather it's your story or someone else's, to fill it in would erase a tiny bit of history.

I've looked at that tru oil a few times, heard good things but never seen it actually used. now seeing how it's working for you I may have to get some. how big of a bottle did you get? also how thick does it lay on? that's one reason I never re finished any gun stocks, i'm used to polyurethane which gives a fairly thick coat. good for furniture not so much for guns.

I got the 3oz, it was like 6 bucks at Academy Sports and I still have plenty left. It's really thin, I just dip a finger in and rub it on.
After it dries it's stupid smooth.

I hate the feel poly has on stocks.

Yes sir.. four AR15 (5.56) and one AR10 (.308).. i can mill one out in just over an hr. I'll eventually make a couple 1911's too but i want to make a 10-22 for hunting small game. Anything else i have would turn a rabbit into 4 key chains.

And for some reason.. im lusting over a Remington 700 bolt action in a 30-06 for long distance relations.. lol

Depending on your uses, consider getting one chambered in a .300 win mag.

Don't think I ever posted this but a potato pic of my first handgun, got it last summer. Old Rossi 357 6" barrel. It was too cheap to pass up and shoots great!
