Nice, I would of bought one of those, but I wanted to use mine for Deer since that is legal now and it is the closet we can get to using HPRs in Ohio. I just didn't want to buy a gun with a finish like that then scratch it.

I plan on getting at least 4 shootable of those rifles. One for me (maybe .17), the wife, one for each boy and this...someday

18" barrel is for the heavy heavy brush I like to spot and stalk for deer hunting.

are you required to use short range where you hunt or you just want to use a shotgun?

Man, that gun is stunning. Does it come in any other calibers?

I have a 28" barrel and I hunt pheasant in heavy brush with no issues. You really don't need an 18" barrel unless your using it for home defense or backpacking.

I dont think you guys understand, I mean I can barely maneuver through it. I often jump deer up from their beds so quickly raising a gun is crucial. I hunted this way with an iron sight 30-30 and liked it, but I can reload quicker with a pump. Also if I get a gun I want it to have multiple applications.

I am able to hunt with my 500 in 6-7 ft thorns while keeping up with the dogs. Get like a 24" barrel, you have enough range and its not to long.

I guess instead of warning him about the brand debate, I should have warned him of the "length" debate. Been going on as long as men have been around...
