What is your budget and preferences? You like hand guns or rifles?

Yea all I want to do for now is work on the fundamentals and shoot at targets. I've heard the 10/22 is very inaccurate out of the box and is only good after you dump a sizable amount of money into it. Is this true from your experience?

Anyone that tells you that is full of shit. I can take a bone stock 10/22 carbine and shoot 1" groups at 50 yards all day long.
----------
However if you want something to practice the fundamentals with I would recommend this
http://www.impactguns.com/stevens-30...654263101.aspx
Bolt action so it makes you think between shots. You can scope it or use the open sights.

Whoever told you that was straight talking out of their ass.
The last one I bought was the low model ($175 out the door) and I was hitting stuff consistently over 100 yards...with iron sights!

Not true. I have one with a stainless barrel, folding stock and a flash suppressor. I put a Nikon rimfire specific scope on it and we were consistently shooting 1/2 dollar sized groups at 50 yards with almost no adjustment.

Picked up another AR yesterday. Plain Jane M&P 15 pictures will be up as soon as photobucket stops being gay.

Very nice. You going to leave it unfired or at least put a round or to through it?

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
Nice. I always had a soft spot for lever actions. My dad has a Savage Model 99 .308 and just this past year I bought a .444 Marlin off of a co-worker for bear hunting, Came with 2 boxes of bullets and a scope for $400
