The ak is a Russian model, and it's automatic.
----------
And an ak47 is an ak47 regardless of the type of shooting it does.

No, it's not. The AK47 is a fully automatic machine gun made from the original manufacturer, Izhmash, in Russia. Any variant/look-alike of this gun would not qualify it as an AK-47 simply because IT IS NOT ONE. You may call it an AK-style rifle, however, it is not a true AK-47 unless it meets the original blueprint standards.
For example, if I went out and bought an M&M AK style rifle which was semi-automatic and didn't chamber the same round as original AK's it would not be an AK; It would be AK-style.
Sorry, but unless they are specifically called an AK-47 they are not one.
Quote:
Early variants (7.62×39mm)
Issue of 1948/49 – The very earliest models, with the Type 1 stamped sheet metal receiver, are now very rare.
Issue of 1951 – Has a milled receiver. Barrel and chamber are chrome plated to resist corrosion.
Issue of 1954 (1955) – Lightened milled receiver variant. Rifle weight is 3.47 kg (7.7 lb).
AKS – Featured a downward-folding metal stock similar to that of the German MP40, for use in the restricted space in the BMP infantry combat vehicle, as well as by paratroops.
AKN (AKSN) – Night scope rail.
Modernized (7.62×39mm)
AKM – A simplified, lighter version of the AK-47; Type 4 receiver is made from stamped and riveted sheet metal. A slanted muzzle device was added to counter climb in automatic fire. Rifle weight is 2.93 kg (6.5 lb)[N 2] due to the lighter receiver. This is the most ubiquitous variant of the AK-47.
AKMS – Under-folding stock version of the AKM intended for airborne troops.
AKMN (AKMSN) – Night scope rail.
AKML (AKMSL) – Slotted flash suppressor and night scope rail.[53]
RPK – Hand-held machine gun version with longer barrel and bipod. The variants – PRKS, RPKN (RPKSN), RPKL (RPKSL) – mirror AKM variants. The "S" variants have a side-folding wooden stock.

The AK part means "Automatic Kalashnikova" the Kalashnikova part is derived from the creators name.

No it actually means "Avtomat Kalashnikova", but still you are correct there are many variants of the original that was first produced in 1947. But they are all an AK style weapon.
