Lol. Nice pieces though, I have a Para-Ordinance compact 1911. Been considering the Judge or S&W's Governor.

They are so new, I haven't had a chance to fire them yet. I've been wanting a Judge for home defense anyway. I live in a housing plan and don't like the idea that one of my shots may go into a neighbor's house if I missed.

The Kimber is because I wanted a better carry gun. My PT145 is fine for what it is but it is a $500 pistol. There is a big difference in feel. You get what you pay for.

Absolutely, besides my AR my 1911 is the most expensive gun I own, but its the one I trust my life to. Great carry gun IMO.

Did a little research and found that ballard rifling is better for lead cast bullets typically used in older designed firearms since the deeper grooving is less likely to foul from the lead. Also, the process is different. Each groove is cut separately with any where from four to six grooves being typical. The process is more labor intensive and expensive as a result.

Micro grooving is used in firearms that typically use jacket bullets. They are cut all at one time with a tool called a button. Thus, why some firearms are listed as having buttoned rifling.

It also seems that ballard rifling tends to last longer as far as accuracy.

love how all my local gun shops are price whoring and gouging. Nothing in stock and if it is, price is like 3x msrp. I picked a great time to buy my first firearm!

Feels a little cheap to me. I'm going with the H&K version. Little more, but sweet!

It did feel light but still durable. Better than the mossberg i looked at. I felt as if i set it down on the table it would crumble. Now that was cheap! Haha

That's what you buy for the kids. Cheap. Lol

I just like that the H&K feels like the real deal. You can find parts & accessories easy and cheap. Plus I'm going to be introducing the old lady to rifles with it.

On a bench rest that thing will barely flinch. Lol
