i would never own an ak in 5.56 that would be like the worst of both worlds the inaccuracy of an AK (even tho that one is all milled its still an AK at heart) and the weakness of the 5.56 round
hell i probably will never own anything 5.56 im more of a 7.62 and .308 guy myself

Theyre not necessarily a weak round. Ive seen .223's (5.56) take down coyotes at 200+ yards with no problem. Hell I put a hole in the deer I shot this year about the size of a softball with my .243 and thats only a tad bigger than the .223
Me and patrick talked about the whole overkill aspect that people think of when it comes to hunting. Most people i know think you need a .30-06, .308, 7mm, .300 etc to take down a deer, Ive had more success with my .243 than my .308. Dont get me wrong though, I love the .308, but I just think that the smaller rounds get overlooked a lot. My friend swears by his .35 for deer hunting.

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
The "inaccuracy" of an AK is a myth... kinda like the "unreliability" of an AR is.
The AK (unless the barrel is decades old and shot out, as is the case with many AKs floating around third world countries) is more accurate than people give them credit for. This AK of mine will compete with any AR of similar barrel (you know, unless it's been sporterized with floating barrel and all that other nonsense).
As for weakness of the 5.56 round... Lol! Unless you mean weakness of the .223 Rem, in which case you may have a point.
Fact is, 5.56 is less likely to over-penetrate a human target than 7.62 is, so even though it is a smaller bullet, it delivers more energy to the target.
But you know, this is kinda a tired argument, and I'm probably not going to change your mind just because I know the actual facts about these firearms and not just the stats from counter-strike.
^just one example of ballistic testing. You could spend about an hour online READING and disprove almost all of the popular misconceptions in the old "AK vs. AR" debate.

wheres the "like" button? Finally, someone else that understands ballistics. ive defended my life with the 5.56 and it never let me down, size doesnt always matter, when it comes to calibers theres so much more to the equation than just bullet size. i just dont like AK's but it doesnt have much to do with the gun its self, its a tried and true platform and a legendary weapon but just seeing one or hearing one brings back bad memories.

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
well the "inaccuracy" of an AK has alot to deal with the inconsistency of the russian ammo versus american made ammo so i suppose if you are using nothing but matchgrade 7.62x39 ammo in milled receiver AK you could have better accuracy then just a stock AK with russian surplus ammo (which is what most people use) and in a comparrison between an AR-15 and a AK the AR-15 is normally more accurate
and as far as bigger is better/not better a majority of the time the person your shooting at is gonna be behind some sort of cover and an 7.62x39 can punch through cinderblock like its nothing and has better penetration on hard targets then other rounds due to it being a heavier round
i just feel that we should of sticked to the .308 round versus a 5.56 in my opinon and maybye use something like the SCAR-H
but main reason i like it is that im a cheap ass and i dont want to spend like twice what i spent on my truck for a rifle that i dont like to shoot (i hate the sound of the spring going back and forth when you fire) i wouldnt mind an AR style rifle in .308 eventually but im probably gonna try and get a G3 style because i like the feel of those better
but for now ill stick to my 7.62x54R
