I use PMC and Lake City for cheap (well cheap for .308/7.62) range fun. It's accurate enough and I can save the brass for later reloading. And it's accurate enough to get some good groups at 100 yards. It won't win any precision range matches but that was never the point of that ammo to begin with.

I need to get back into reloading, but it's odd since I don't work weekendso anymore I've had less free time because I've either been doing sidework or projects around the house.

My friend bought the same model, and he added a bipod to it which I thought made the gun more balanced. Also, the flat stock sucks imo. I don't know if you can change that or not though.

Everyone's opinion is going to be different. I would shoot it as is for a little while and figure out what you like and don't like about it. Usually, a better trigger is a good first step and can be had fairly in expensively but some people luck out and get a pretty good stock trigger.
Beyond that, what your primary intended use is going to be will drive what else should be changed. Home defense or close quarters shooting? A decent reflex or red dot sight. Range shooting or shooting 100 yards plus? A 1-X scope would be better and still give you the ability to shoot close range. These are just examples to give you some ideas and food for thought.

Finally found the ammo I was looking for! 
I went to the range the other day and fired 250+ rounds through my Remington R51 without a hiccup. Let a couple of other guys shoot it and they loved it

These were at 40'. Top left was my Stainless Warthog. 3" sub compact 1911. Top right was my first shots with my R51, 2 mags. Center bottom was also the R51. Obviously pulled some on the top right

My GF just bought an R51 today. Seems like a nice carry gun (didn't get to shoot it yet) but the breakdown is absolutely terrible compared to most other brands. I'd much rather disassemble a 1911 before doing that again.
