I found a new spot that's legal to shoot at. There's another area that's heavily used and has a lot of people.
So, I called umpteen departments before I was able to leave a message with the DNR Manager.
He called me back and we verified a few different places it's still legal.
Gotta get a table/chair out there. I just surprised him this morning. "Get up, get dressed, eat your breakfast and be ready to go after."

Where I am it's legal anywhere outside of city limits as long as there are no houses within a certain distance behind (I believe it's 200 yards or something but I'd have to research that it's probably farther) and you have a proper backstop.

Those are the things that bounce and roll when they're hit right? Always wanted to try one of those.

Yeah, they have a few different shapes now. You hit them and they jump a random way.
They're self healing, I can't remember the numbers, but supposed to be able to take like 1,000+ rounds?
He's never seen a recovered round before, so I was able to get a .22 stuck after going through a 2x6. Well worth the under $20.

Bought a little but of ammo today. You know not too many people understand people like us who buy ammo and things for survival. My fiancé thinks I'm weird and anybody else I tell even my sister and brothers kinda think I'm weird and I'm not extreme with my "prepping" if you can really call it that lol. Does anybody else get weird questions and looks when you tell people your preparing your family for whatever may happen?

Call it prepping, call it whatever you want but in the end you dont have to explain it to anybody. I have so much ammo stockpiled my barrels will be worn out before I can shoot it all.

yep me too but I don't actually know anyone with one. I figure it will dress up the boring "plastic fantastic" look it's got now and make it a little nicer to shoot.
debating between the rimfire hunter.
http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/Produc...-sa-fbc-nl-fin
or possibly the featherweight thumbhole.
http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/Produc...-sa-fbc-pl-fin
also not sure if I want the "nutmeg" finish (nautral wood tone laminate) or the "pepper" (black & grey laminate)... the gun I originally wanted had a black / grey laminate stock with a stainless barrel, but I feel with the matte bluing the natural wood colors would look better.... so much to choose lol

My savage came stock with the wooden thumb hole stock I love it helps accuracy and looks great! Only downside is that I have really big hands so it doesn't fit the thumb hole as good as is like it to.
