I'm kind of moving away from polymer. I want something small, 45, capacity and not wrist breaking recoil. Lol

Hard to beat 10+1 of 45 in a tiny controllable package.

Proceed with your glock rant. ;-)

I love 1911's. I'm actually planning on getting a full sized one in the next year. Just don't understand the baby 1911s. Their still heavy for a carry gun and don't have the capacity of a polymer gun. That little one holds 10+1?

Default Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!

Picked up a little 9mm from High-Point. Great little gun for the price, $195 out the door. Handle is too short for me so I bought an extended mag, much better. I have run 100 rds through it with no problems.

Yep. 10+1. The weight doesn't bother me. I always have a big operator type belt, don't have to dress with slacks ever, all my shirts cover perfect, etc.

I'm actually choosing the heavier model. There's the stainless and the black. The black is an alloy frame and like 6 (?) ounces lighter

The biggest reason I like the weight is the shooting controllability. Same theory as a full size steel 1911 vs full size poly frame...more gun weight = less felt recoil. If you need to pull it out, I don't like the snappy recoil that can be tough to control under pressure and I decided to stick with .45 except on a rare occasions where I would need something really light. In that event, my Taurus 809c will suffice for now. Got it to plink with and actually love it

Gotta stack any card you can in your favor...but, even in a small 3" configuration...something pretty soothing about having 10 rounds of .45ACP ready to go

Para USA Warthog. The only thing I'll change is the sight. I kinda feel every carry gun should have Tritium night sights

Lol...the last time I went shooting, a couple guys had one of those and one break action 9mm rifle. So, I let them shoot my FNX-40...guy almost had an accident in his pants. Then his kid literally almost had an accident in his pants...walking up to the target with a round chambered, muzzle against his leg pointed inward...and...wait for it...his fucking finger on the trigger! (With their gun)

I didn't hesitate to yell at him the moment I saw it. He was 12+. My son was 7 then, been shooting since he was 5. Guess who had better gun safety? And yes, my son can shoot a pistol and handle it properly. Hand him a gun, finger is in the right place, knows how to clear it and make safe, etc...

Wow...

And that's how kids should be taught. Kudos

That's what my dad did with me too.

It's not just kids either. Went to the indoor range awhile back and the woman who got the lane next to me almost shot herself in the face. She said she just bought them because she thinks guns were "cool". At least get some firearms handling training if you're new to them

I've got nothing against women and shooting, I loaned my 1911 to 2 different ladies while I was there and let them throw some lead on my dime

I try to encourage them to shoot. Gave a chick a exploding rimfire target because she was bored AF with her boyfriend. Like he dragged her out there. She left with a smile after the BOOM!
