Just got a 1955 Swiss K31. It was factory refurbished to like-new condition by Waffenfabrik - Bern, around 1962 and put in storage for over half a century.

Anyone familiar with these rifles knows how rough even "good condition" K31s are usually in, even though they are amazingly accurate. This is about as close to a "new" milsurp firearm as I'll probably ever get. Bluing is 100% and the wood has onky some marring consistent with log-term crate storage. Even the 50+ year old leather sling is like new.

Whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Hard to tell, as K31s like this don't become available very often. I was willing to pay $595. The way I see it, if this rifle were made today it would probably cost more than $1200. An M1 Garand or M1903 in this condition would also be well north of $1K (and they made 10 times as many of those than K31s).

If I was going to be spending that kind of money, I would just spend a little more and get a nice M1A

Show me a Sturmgewehr 44, and I'll sell my first born!

I haven't posted my equalizer in awhile. It started as a Maverick 88 20ga. pump action.I changed everything and made it a home defense, before you knock the 20ga. I've had 3 rotator cuff operations so a 12 ga. is not practical for me.

Nothing wrong with a 20 ga, bob. I have both 12s and 20 gas. and I prefer the 20 in almost every situation.

Check these out Bob. They're for 12 ga, but might be able to make it work on a 20.

It's a recoil reducing stock. Has a spring system to take a lot of felt recoil. I've heard very good reviews on them. They have them for rifles too. Rem 700 for example

Going up in the woods tomorrow with a friend to shoot some of our guns I'll have pics tomorrow. We should be bringing my m1 carbine, mosin, 10/22, and his .223 and his 22 for some fun plinking around

Thanks Mike,I thought about a recoil stock, but went with the hand grip, so I could keep it clear away from my shoulder. With the 18.5" barrel there isn't much aim to it.

I believe they make it without the buttstock too. Check Blackhawks website

After you shoot it would only break open half way and wouldn't go any farther to kick the shell back
