I'll probably get the Recon just to make IWB a little easier
Where the hell is Tbarr when you need him anyway? Lol

Just curious because they're 14 round double stacks. Never seen one personally

What's ballpark price for the recon? A .45 will be the first thing I buy when I turn 21 haha

Just depends on where and what you get. You can get decent starter 1911's for $500-$600
The recon I believe is in the $800-1k range. There is much more expensive ones! Lol

You should be able to get a hell of a pistol in that price range.

Anyone have first hand experience with Kimber 1911s? Are they all they're really cracked up to be?

I have a Rock Island 1911 that I bought off my friend after he bought RI's compact 1911. Love the gun! Very solid and well made. The 1911 is a great platform that's simple and reliable; i guess that's why it's still being sold today by an array of firearm manufacturers.

I have a rock island compact 1911 too. Nice gun for the price. I bought it used and probably spent a little to much on it, but I do like it. I used it as a cc while my xds was getting fixed for recall.
It is pretty damn heavy though.

I fired a couple other guys at the range and checked out a few at shops. It's a 1911. It shoots like one.
Personally I feel the craftsmanship is over priced. Basic gun = not basic price. You can get much more bang for your buck elsewhere. I have heard of a couple feeding issues in the past, but that was 10+ years ago and haven't heard anything since on that.

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
Kimber are good but over priced. I'll take any Springfield over them. My next 1911 is prob going to be a sig. And those cheep rugers have been catching y eye but it's still a Ruger idk.

Yes. I tryed to get on the 1911 bandwagon. I got a kimber pro raptor. That thing was a pain in the ass. Ammo brand sensitive and would hardly feed hollow points. When it did shoot it was awesome, but that was rare. I sold it and bought my glock.
