Thas pretty rough on a gun, and still no issues (minus one ammo related malfunction). If you want a sub $800 AR, the S&W is the way to go. Second from the right in the first pic is my S&W. The far left in the first pic and the one in 2nd pic are ones that I built. That first one is capable of headshots on a prairie dog at 300 yards. Proof that building is the way to go. Oh I wasn't arguing with you I was agreeing the oracle is a decent gun. I don't have any experience with the s&ws but I've heard good things and kind of wish I would have gotten one.

What's involved in upgrading your stock from factory to magpul? I've heard you need a special tool to remove it...

That's what I saw everywhere I looked but a guy at the store insisted you need some "special tool"

Wouldn't hurt to buy an AR wrench though

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
Use a strap wrench for the ar castle nut. Its a rubber strap you pull tight on it. Works like a charm. I just put my lower assembly all together. Hardest thing is the detent pins for the take down pins. Its a bitch.
Btw you can build a nice mil spec AR for around $800-$900. I have a spikes lower, psa parts kit, and psa upper. Was $850.

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
Am I missing something here? When I changed the stock on my AR, all I did was pull the stock 4 position off of the buffer tube and put the magpul one on... there was no need for a wrench

Ok, so yeah, there's no need for a wrench, although like posted before, it wouldn't hurt for you to have an AR wrench. I got mine at Dunham's Sports for less than $10

Ok yeah I probably need quite a few things lol. This is my first AR and def not my last. Thinking about building my next one after I get this one finished (pretty much just wanna get some back up iron sights on it then it's done) so I'll need everything for that.
