Got to love the "kick the ball now I kick the ball" conversation. How about some gun porn which the thread is about.

I personally would rather have what mine holds 14+1.
You never know what your gonna do in a situation. You can practice 100 times a day and when forced to pull the trigger adrenalin takes over. Look at some cop videos they all pop off 9+ rounds and never hit the person.

And all you gotta do is look those statistics up. I think you're a little too hung up on the hollywood style gun battle. Lol. Thats rarely how it actually happens.

And so a 9mm round has good ballistics. .45's have them too. And a 9mm may or may not expand to the size of a quarter, but a .45 will always be at least a .45. Thats why every self defense expert out there recommends that you carry the biggest caliber you can safely and accurately shoot (within reason of course. Lol).

Btw, if the 1911 is such a useless gun, why is it carried by experts like Larry Vickers, Massad Ayoob, and Marty Hayes?

Sent from my race truck so I can win wherever I am!
Travis Haylee, James Yeager, Jay Gibson, Aaron Little. All with real life experience of self defence. All will use 9mm before anything and will never use 1911s. Watch James yeagers videos on 1911s or go to a class if you can. You listed a bunch of old timers. So there for it is no surprise they will stay in the olden days. And your "carry the biggest caliber you can safely" is a joke right? You're excluding so many important variables! If you're needing to hand your firearm off to a female or elderly the .45 is probably the best round huh? I'll stick with what people know works. They know it works because they've defended lives with it and taken lives with it. .45 is really an old mans round as is the 1911 an old mans guns.

If you only need a gallon of gas to get somewhere but you smash the pedal and use 2 you probably shouldn't have a licence either huh? Again you're the kind of guy who can't fathom YOU MAY MISS.

Oh look, another teenager that things he knows everything there is to know about guns.

Buddy realize this, there are many weapons out there because everyone likes something different. I carry both a 9mm (G19) and a 45acp (in a 1911 no doubt) because I trust both rounds and both guns.

Just remember this old old saying. Opinions are like assh0les everyone has one and they all stink.

And to get us back on track.

If I was to buy a gun I'd get a 1911 before anything else

Can you show me these statistics? Who published this and where did they collect the data? How many self defence situations have you been in where 1 shot was fired? Not discrediting your "source" but use common sense. If you were walking to the store and 3 men walked up 2 with a gun and 1 with a knife. The first step is to retreat behind cover with your weapon ready. Let's say you first managed to get cover and were being fired upon. Now let's do math. You use 3 rounds to suppress them. 6 to neutralize each target and you never missed. That's 9 rounds. Now say you missed 3 shots. That's 12. Miss 5, 14. That's 2 1911 mags but you'd still have ammo in a double stack. I've seen amazing ballistics results out of corbons 9mm rounds. And if you don't need more than 4 rounds and are in such close quarters why not carry a super short shotty???

During the whole December fiasco why do you think Glock had a 17 year back order calculated and I could still get revolvers and 1911s at my local gun store?

All my guns got seized, but these were mine. If you really don't believe me you can find the charges if you Google Minnesota public records.

Right, and do I dare ask why they got seized. Only reason that would be is for criminal activity with a firearm.

Correct. I got a felony when I was 11. Figured I was off probation so it was legal for me to own guns being I'm 18 and that wasn't the case.

Yep. Now I can't own guns until I'm 31. Or ten years after my probation ends. Domestics are worse then felonies though. You ever shoot a piston driven AR?
