When I bought my 10/22 a month ago, Cabela's had an entire bin full of BX-25 mags, Probably like a 6'x6'x2' deep bin, $34 each

I just bought a rock river compact 1911 to replace my xds while its being fixed for recall :/ haven't got it yet have to wait for illinois' stupid waiting period. I'm seeing some mixed reviews..
Anybody have experiences with these?

Its a 1911. Junk. You'll have a better chance throwing it at someone than using it as a defence pistol.

Wat.
1911's have been used for a lot of years as a defensive handgun, and are considered by a lot of people to be the best. What exactly about the 1911 makes it junk and unsuitable for use as a defensive handgun?

Its to tight internally. There's no room for sand, mud, or any other material to flow through it. It has a single stack mag. .45s are the worst round designed for handguns. They have an external safety and hammer. I'm a Glock whore and proud of it. They're out dated target guns.
