I don't know much about any ARs. I'm just getting in the market for one, and I've always heard Colt is one of the best. Ill post a link to what I'm looking at. I'm sure gander mountain has it over priced, I wouldn't be buying from them anyway. If I get anything I will order it from my local gun store.

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
There's better ones out there then colt. I would take my spikes over a colt.

I picked up my Colt for $975. Its a really nice gun, but there are better guns for the money. I can shoot just as well with my $700 S&W Sport as I can with that Colt. But the one that I built is my favorite. Way better than any off the shelf gun, because I built it EXACTLY how I wanted it. That thing will pop a prairie dog's head at 300 yards. Lol.

This. We have both a colt and a Yankee Hill Machine AR-15. The Yankee hill was much higher quality. The only composite piece on the gun that is visible is the trigger. The colt lacked in build quality compared, so we sold it.

Re: Your Gun Pics, Post Em Up!
If you want something nice out of the box check out SIG. One with a short stroke push rod system. Most AR's are the gas systems and are not as good as the push rod. Not saying with proper care aren't good, but if you want quality over accessories... that's a good choice. Accessories can always be added later.

Sig does make a good AR.
We have the desert enforcer AR15 from Yankee hill. Full length barrel guard with breaching tip.
Go to this website http://www.landeenphotography.com/yhmdegwle/h5E1871AE it has great high def pictures of it.

Damn right. Did you know HK made a semiautomatic .22 magnum rifle like 20-30 years ago? It's supposed to be very rare.

Thanks for all the info guys. Very helpful. I had heard sig made good ones, but hadn't really checked them out yet.
On another note, tomorrow I'm going to go purchase a Mosin Nagant.

So it was a bittersweet day for me today. Sweet because my grandfather passed his old hunting rifle down to me. Bitter because my grandpas hunting days are over, he's in his late 70's and has Parkinson's so the once active sportsman can no longer enjoy what he's enjoyed for so many years. With tears in his eyes as well as mine he gave me his trusty rifle. Even though I have a nice Thomson Center .270 I will however be carrying this Remington 740 Woodmaster 30-06 this coming deer season.
