I've lost too many dogs, breaks my heart every time. I get too attached to them

It's easy to get attached to them, I guess it's just the way it works.
Your BIL's dog is a nice one. I had a full blooded white one, with one black ear, and one black eye. He's been gone for 6 six years now. He and Oz were the best buddies. When Spike left us, Oz actually seemed depressed, just mopped around for a few days.
On thing about Border Collies, they can have a rough or smooth coat, prick or semi-floppy ears, and just about any colour combination. But, they usually have white on their face.
Cross them with a heeler, and the combinations can become interesting, but one thing for sure, there's no other dog like them.

They sure leave an empty space when they're gone don't they.

Annabelle seems to be very sensitive to how people and other animals are feeling. We had a cat that was 21 years old, and started to fail. At one point, she kind of collapsed in our kitchen. Annabelle actually picked her up very carefully, carried her into the living room and put her on a pillow in front of the woodstove. Yesterday she was in for a vet's appointment, and started to howl in the waiting room. Turns out another dog was being euthanized when she started. They seem to sense a lot of things that we can't

They're gorgeous! Annabelle loves to sit in my lap, so I'll grab a cushion and sit on the floor just so she can park herself on me for a while

We traded our sports car for a Rubicon, we sold our trailer home for a real 2400 square foot house, and we got rid of our antique furniture for hundred-dollar Craigslist sectionals when we adopted our pit bull LOL she's part of the family for sure

We even let her sleep on the bed..... oh yeah and we bought a king size bed just for that lol

I would come back as one of my dogs in my next life too for sure

I don't understand how people can keep dogs outside. I mean why even have them at that point. Better than being at the shelter I guess. Cute pups
