Clinton, I have a Chocolate Lab whom is a part of my family. I just got done feeding him earlier. He turns three here in two months.
He impresses me everyday at how smart he is. I have never taught him the sit command, He just knows when I want him to sit usually. If not, I just point and he sits. I can point to something and say go there and he goes. I can be busy and say go lay down and he heeds. He knows "get in truck" and jumps in the truck. Iv have taught him to hug me as well...lol. I can say Buddy, you love daddy, and he will jump up put his paws around my waist haha. I can put my hands in my pocket and ask him what he wants and he will nibble at my hands. I have no problems putting him in his pen, he loves his pen, he knows when i start going that way, where he is going and he is excited about his pen..lol. He knows the "go get water" command, etc... The only thing i have a problem with Buddy is a leash or anything that looks like a leash in your hands gets near him. All the above does not apply haha! He will not listen to a word I say, he is terrified of a leash. When he was a puppy, I put one on him and he took off with it attached and ran around the house. All I could hear was his welping, he HATES a leash. But he listens so well that I dont have to worry about him running off of another dog is around. He is not aggressive and listens to everyword I say. If there is another dog around and I say NO, he will stay by my side. On another note, he also protects me. He has nipped at three people that have walked up on me. and me not know it. My favorite thing he does is when I grab my fishing poles and tackle bag, he goes nuts because he knows we are going to the pond to fish. I can keep going on, if you are serious about getting a dog, cant go wrong with a Lab. Any color will work, they are all the same. I have also owned rottweilers and they are GREAT dogs as well. I loved all three of my rotties (we had three at same time, no one came in our yard without invitation).

Clinton were you seriously asking which one to get??
If so I can tell you I have had 2 yellows and currently have a black and he is a beast/baby lol. They have all been the best dogs ever, very loyal. Never had a chocolate but have always wanted one, I love the color!

 i love labs too. we had a yellowdog when i was younger, she was a great dog.

I prefer German shepards too, but labs are cool dogs .
