President Obama has a Democratic Majority in the Senate and the House. If his policies are so great, he shouldn't have a problem getting them passed regardless of what the Republicans have to say.

If you wish to blame anyone, blame the Democrats who aren't "towing" the party line. Something tells me there is a reason they aren't.

I do blame some of the DEMS.
and I blame the use of fear tactics also.

on another note, I was born and raised REPUBLICAN, until one day someone asked me what has a republican done for me.
I thought about it and unless you are very rich the tax breaks do not do shit for anyone but the rich, and to think that only rich people produce jobs, haha think again
itis the small independent owners that are making maybe 100k a year and producing jobs.
Immigration here is another hot issue, who do you think does the work in the fields here who trims palm trees and other crappy jobs???

I'm only affiliated with a party so I can make sure they let me in for the primaries. Both parties disgust me and I wouldn't trust any of them any farther than I could throw them.

The "house" is a mess and we need to clean it out and start fresh.

And with, as stated, the dems controlling both sides of congress, there is no way to pin the current state of our country on Repubs or Bush.
As far as your wife goes, did you ever consider healthcare for your family as a matter of responsibilty to them? Maybe you should have bought coverage before her diagnosis. I hate it for you and her, but responsibility on your part would have lessened the outcome you now have to face. It isn't the responsibility of me, other tax-payers, or the government to provide healthcare for you and your family because you waited until you needed it to try to get it.

On a side note, get car insurance now BEFORE something happens. I don't want you to think tax-payers should pay to have your truck fixed because you didn't think you'd need insurance on it like you assumed with your family.

***didn't trample all over the free-market adn try to control every aspect of it

Things are getting a bit out of hand here. Talking politics and disagreeing is one thing. Wanting to get into a fight over it is another.

The preexisting crap is terrible and it should be eliminated but the Federal government has no business doing it. They don't have the constitutional authority. State governments do on the other hand.

The government had no business bailing out the banks (Bush) or the auto industry (Obama) either for the very same reason. It doesn't matter if they are going to pay the money back or not, that is not the point.

Reasons why the government should not be doing things for you or given any more money that necessary.

Social Security; going broke because they moved the trust fund to the general fund and raided it.

Medicare; broke.

Medicaid; broke.

The Veteran's Administration; Delay, Deny, and Hope you die. That particular saying comes from any veteran's group you wish to ask their opinion on the VA.

Welfare; While I have no problem with a safety net, way too many people live off that system for their entire life and teach their kids how to do the same. Work to get yourself better and get off the system. And while you are on it, do those jobs the "no one wants to do" or do public works. There is a lot of infrastructure that needs fixing out there as an example.
