LOL. I was the last of the generation of Oregonians to have a non-restricted lisence. Those went into effect like 2 months after I recieved mine. Some crap about 6 months driving with nobody in the car, curfews, etc and other restrictions for the first year. But I didn't have to do that junk(thank goodness).
I was on the opposite side of that law in california...just missed not having any restrictions...had to wait 6 months like you with no one in car under 25, but curfew between midnight and 5 AM or something.

Congrats! Just be warned.....I am 40 and never a ticket or accident ever and I pay $1000 a year, be prepared for $2500 or more a year. Insurance premiums have gotten crazy.

There were also less than half as many vehicles on the road as there are today. I got my liscense like 6 months before it became mandatory for everyone to take (and pass) a driving class before they could take the liscense test.

Talking Ah yes...............

These license in PA are known as the "Cinderella license", as 16 & 17yo's are required to be home by midnight, and as long as you keep your nose clean, at 18yo you get your "Senior license"!!!!!

WELCOME to the party YOUNGSTERS!!!

2 year old truck with 10,000 miles. 250,000/500,000 personal injury/property damage coverages all around including uninsured motorist coverages. Maybe others don't need that level of coverages but in the heavily hispanic state of Florida there are more uninsured and underinsured drivers than all the other states. One of my co workers was hit by a drunk mexican in the country illegally and he shattered his knee........doctor bills are at $110,000 and still growing, thank goodness he had maxxed out uninsured motorist coverages otherwise he would have had deductables in his health insurance plan that would be in the thousands. He gets injured and the mexican prick simply gets deported.
You have a 10 year old 2001 Ranger and that weighs heavily on the premiums too!
I don't know how teenagers can even have their own vehicles with insurance costs, they are sky high. When my son first got his license I put him on my policy and it was a back breaker.
Personal injury attorneys and bad drivers ruin it for everyone.
