Default Is this wiring diagram correct for my boat?

I drew this up real quick to figure out how to wire up my boat. Sorry if it is not politically correct, but you get the general idea.

Basically all the ground wires will merge to one bolt connector to the battery and the hot wire will go to fuse panel and distribute out to accessories.

You have this all bassackwards. The switch needs to actually switch the power to the devices. You have the switches shorting out the entire system. Red wire from fuse panel, into the switch, out of the switch, to the device. Black wire direct to the device. If the switches are lighted, then the switch will have a ground as well.

The flow to each device should look liket this:

(+ Frome Fuse)--------->[Switch]>-------- Red wire on nav light
(- From Batt)----------------------------- Black wire on nav light

(+ Frome Fuse)--------->[Switch]>-------- Red wire on anchor light
(- From Batt)----------------------------- Black wire on anchor light

(+ Frome Fuse)--------->[Switch]>------- Red wire on deck lights
(- From Batt)----------------------------- Black wire on deck lights

(+ Frome Fuse)---------------------------> Red wire on fishfinder
(- From Batt)-----------------------------> Black wire on fishfinder

The switch should be interrupting the red wire, not connecting the red and black. IF you connected the red and black... you will have a fire.

All ground wires on devices can go to a common ground or back to the battery.

All power wires need to be interrupted before the device.

As you can see, my artistic abilities are unmatched. Normally I would do this on Visio but this does get the job done.

For the fuses, 5 amp slow-blow fuses on the nav lights and anchor light. The deck lights, a 10 amp slow blow should be fine. Whatever the fishfinder is spec'd at, probably more like 10amp fast acting. Make sure you seal all your connections with silicone.

thanks matt, one change though, i want the bow and stern light on two switches, one in the back and one in the front, so no matter if im in the front or back, i can turn them on. is this possible?

I see you have a seperate switch for the bow and stern lights. lets link the two.

yes. on most bass boats, you have the swithces at the console and also at the front of the boat near the fishfinder and trolling motor so that no matter where you are you have access to the lights, bilge pump and livewell
