The fact that it is a unit body doesn't bother me too much. The new front end treatment doesn't do anything for me though.

okay im not a huge fan of the body but heres a few things that should never be said with explorer in the same scentence... FWD and biggest engine is a v6.. i mean what the hell its just another assless big car now..

I'm not a big fan of unibody either, and the front end is growing on me. The problem is, Ford is trying to appeal to the new market of tree-huggers and people who believe Al Gore and Global Warming. People dont' particularly want huge SUV's on truck frames anymore, with the exception of some of us FRF'ers and rednecks. Which ever way it goes, Good or bad, i think we will be surprised. Ford has made some pretty massive moves lately on improving their all their vehicles in the line-up without using the tax payers money and i may not agree with what they did to the explorer, but i think it'll work for them.

On another note, they unveiled the Police Interceptor Utility version of it today or last night or sometime.

well as far as engines go, the new v6 makes about the same hp as the 2010's v8, and the ecoboost 4 cyl makes more than the 2010's 4.0, now they might throw in a 3.7 mustang v6 that has a little more hp, or even a 3.5 ecoboost, so its probably much faster than the old one, and maybe lighter on top of that, so Ford could be on to the fastest street suv, but im not sure how it will work out for extreme offroading which again ive never seen a newer expo doing, just old ones, really old ones lol

i absolutely hate it!! i got into it with a spokesmen for ford on facebook when they released them. unibody=huge fail!! take it off road and the 4 wheel alignment is out. he told me well its a cross over. well don't they already have enough of those. the flex the edge now you need 3? 3 of the same vehicles is pointless. and remember uni body frames are tacked every 3 inch's. you wreck it in a fender bender its done. it will bend out of shape real easy. and what happen to the metal the real 4wd's. not plastic EVERYTHING! honesty i think ford fucked up in my opinion. motors are stronger then ever for a 4 banger but thats all they improved on.

this to me is my fav year for the expo's-

ugh, it does look pretty minivan ish. if i saw that on the road i wouldnt think to myself "look at that explorer" it would be more like "look at that crossuvvanwagon car...thing"
