Re: S10 Xtremes
STL is right about them being fast...that is the 4.3. Especially with a few standard mods. There is an abundance of websites for customizing a S-10 too. Don't know if you plan on pickin one up or not, but if you do, stay away from the 2.2. I had a '98 about 5 years ago and Chevy's 4banger is a turd.
just my 0.02

Re: S10 Xtremes
Yeah, I know. I might be buying one that has all kinds of things done to it for 11.3k, it has 80k miles on it, and I've looked at it there's no scratches or dents. It's got the 4.3.

I drove a 96 4 banger and it was the most piece of shit truck ever lol. I like my ranger 100x more than that s-10. Save your money

Maybe they were cool 10 years ago. But nowadays, I agree with Turd on this one: gay

Re: S10 Xtremes
GM relies a lot on marketing.
It's usually a set of stickers that means you got an options group (z22, extreme, z71 etc..). It's like the cobalt ss, you had the emblem options group, and then you had the supercharged/turbo version.
The truck you mentionned had at least 20 hps less than our 4.0 sohc, and other than a lowered suspension, not much in difference to a regular s10. For performance, i'd try to find a syclone, lol.

Correction, they have lowered body mounts and that stupid body kit looking thing that makes it appear that they are lower than a normal S10. I shit you not, thats why i said theyre the 2wd versions of the zr2's. My friend and I both had '99 S10's, his being the ZR2 version and mine being a normal version. both had 31's, the only reason we could figure out that why his sat higher than mine was that it actually had raised body mounts, althought the suspension was a little bit wider, thats the only difference. and theur skid plates are plastic!
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Id love to find a syclone lol
