Default Regina, SK???

OK, so there has to be some fellow Canadians on here who can help me out. I'm being sent to Regina for a week of training in September. Any fun places to go or great restaurants that only the locals know about? I work out of town a lot and the chain restaurants are getting really old really fast.
Thanks in advance!!

Well, I live in Regina. Being as I'm still too young to drink I think it's boring here. But if you're looking for bars there is a bar district type deal on Dewdney by Albert, theres The Drink,Habanos, Gabos (would not suggest.. I call this place "Stabbo Gabos") and some others around there. I've been in them a few times but never had as much fun as I would have if I were 19. A good restaurant also that is kind of hidden is The China Doll, I'm usually not a fan of chinese but I really like this restaurant (they have amazing iced tea, I can't even explain it), that place is on Winnipeg street I think. Theres like Chilis and East Side Marios of Vic East. TBH now that I think about it theres not alot of places, that are my forte anyway, in Regina that are really anything to rave about. Cornwall is the best mall here, but theres also Northgate, Southland and Victoria. If you like golf theres some decent courses around like the Tor Hill / Murray.
I live in the northwest so not too familiar with the south but I'm sure if you ask me if there is a so and so restaurant I could help ya out.

Also as a side note, there is a shit load of Rangers in this city.

Thanks, that site looks good. I'll check it out in more detail closer to when I go.
Definitely going to have to check out The China Doll, I love Chinese food. Not too sure about hitting up the bars by myself, maybe if I can talk some of the guys at work into going out. I'll be staying close to the CN Rail yard, no idea what area of town.
And unfortunately won't be driving my truck there, not quite up for the 15-16 hour drive by myself. That, and for some reason the company thinks it would be cheaper to fly me and rent a vehicle...

Haha guaranteed that's what I get. We have our own internal travel agency so I'm going to request something else, maybe I'll get someone on a good day or the rental agency is out of compacts....

Yeah I would make money if I took my truck, I took it to Edmonton a few times and made a few hundred each time. But to drive to Regina its about 16 hours, not sure if I'm up for that by myself. Although I have friends in both Calgary and Edmonton... lol I could make a paid mini-vacation out of this. I think my boss gave me a few days off on both sides of the training so it could be do-able.
I was sent to Winnipeg for 2 weeks before too, definately not a fan. Might have also been the fact that it was February and -40....
Quick question - are radar detectors legal in SK? I know they are in BC and AB, but I've heard farther east they're not.

I believe they ARE legal. You don't see a lot of people with them but I know some people who've had them for years. TBH you don't really need a radar detector because theres never more than like two traps, that's on a "good" day. Lets put it this way.. I've never gotten a ticket and I don't exactly have a light foot, but I guess I know the streets so I know when to bag. I only see like one or two cops a week so really you can get away with anything here haha.
So to answer your question, yes I believe they are legal.

Good to know, thanks. The only reason I have one here is because I do a lot of highway driving and the cops are everywhere somedays, and MIA the other days. No consistency!
