Default 2004 Taurus

Well my sister has a 2004 Taurus that just turned 100k miles
She was driving it up until last month when a hole was melted into the upper intake manifold. Well no one sells any aftermarkets so it has to be bought from ford for 338$ I found one junk yard that had one and i got it for 160$. She is flat broke so i had to use my money i saved up to fix it. Took the old one off then had to replace the EGR valve and DPFE sensor. Another 100$ Well i got it all back together and it starts up now and drives but it's overheating.

It has coolant in it and now we suspect it's the catalytic converters. One was just replaced and now we think the other two are bad. The Transmission is not shifting good at all and the fluid is burnt to shit. She doesn't have the money to make the car payment. We are gunna call ford and tell them the problems and see if they want to work with us if not we will let them take it. But i am taking my parts back off.

I am sure they will work with us because of all the problems. They won't get shit for the car at the auction and they don't wanna put the money and time into repossessing it.

The sad part is this thing is a 2004!
i am just pissed about it and had to rant
haha

The Vulcan (OHV) is what's in the Rangers. The Duratec 3.0 was exclusive to the Taurus/Sable and is DOHC. But yeah, starting in 2001 the intake on Vulcans was plastic.

The intakes are plastic from 04-07 that's why we couldn't find one
