I have been a member a long time in fact I have forgotten how long but since my Ranger XLT 4x4 1994 has had very few problems that have been easy for me to solve I haven't came here for help. So now I have a problem. My dome light won't shut off. So I'm thinking the little pressure switch on the door frame isn't working properly but I think I'm going to check here with you guys for some insight into the problem before I start tearing things apart. Thanks

I dont know about a 1994 but on my 01 I have the cargo lights and if you push the cluster dimmer all the way up it will turn on the cargo lights and dome light. Maybe check that lol

Dome light issues are normally due to an issue with the switch in the latch that is in the door. Hitting it with WD-40 usually helps.

I'm seriously thinking that the switch on the post in front of the door, and in that post, is defective because the WD40 doesn't smooth it out and to operate it by hand it feels graviely like there is sand in the action. So I want to change it. I have looked up the part number and all that but I'm a little confused about the process of changing it. I see the holding nut and it looks like if I loosen this and remove it the switch and wiring will fall inside of the body post and be lost. Is there someone on here that can explain how to change those switches for me? Thanks in advance.

I have that problem on my '95. I "fixed" it by removing the dome bulb.

I would never spray WD40 on a switch. Use electronic tuner cleaner or gun scrubber spray.
Worked for me on my 2007.

Help, I got a new jam switch to replace my old one on the drivers side that seemed to be defective. I removed it and yes it was worn out and a mess. I'm pretty sure that is why my dome light was staying on. So I pulled it out and a new problem has become apparent, how do I attach the wiring to the new switch? I don't know how to get to it, I can't seem to see a way. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thanks
