Default How many of you watch trail videos on YouTube?

I enjoyed watching the tv show Alaska Offroad Warriors and recently I watched a few episodes and it really makes me want to throw some supplies in the truck and hit the trails. I think it would be kind of cool to do a much smaller scale of this and record the adventure. Here in the south there're several trails here in the Chattahoochee National Forest, most of them pretty mild mountain roads but still a good ride.
How many of you watch other people on the trail via YouTube?

I spend waaayyyy too much time watching other people wheeling on YouTube. It's like wheeling vicariously through you-tubers. Haha.

Pirate Jeep and BSF recovery team are good channels to follow.

In the northwest where I'm from, everything is pretty flat and sandy. The more south and east you go, you get into elevation changes and rocky terrain.

There are a few semi-legal trails in the Toledo area, but for the most part I have to drive an hour or two to go wheeling. Closest place is an offroad park up in Michigan that's in a stone quarry. They've got a nice mix of wooded trails, gravel/sandy hill climbs and a rock garden type deal.

I have a number of trail videos, This is one of my favorites:

Start at about 22 minutes in, that's when it gets a lot more interesting.

As someone who lived in Michigan for 36 years, how sad is it that in such an open State of forestry, hunting & and 32,000 inland lakes for fishing, and a great deal of the locals all involved in such spontaneous outdoor life that you have to go two track a trail in a "setup" much like a Skate park in California and even for as Open as California was.. SOMEONE, is or IS in the process of preventing you from seeking a little bit of expeditionary adventure or day/overnight camping in a remote area..

Well, unless your making a couple $$$ off of the people anyhow.

I'm still a bit new to the Silver State here [Nevada] But so far, i am surprised that there is a much better quality and eagerness for the outdoors, mores than SoCal even and I thought there was a lot to do there; (seemed more when I was younger than recent years).

Nevada? Seems as long as your respectful to the land, which is one of the reasons why I support treading lightly in many ways, (pack in, pack out if you will) I havent seen or heard of much of anyone telling you what you can or cant do.

I've had the argument before on here but if you have to ask for permission to do everything in life.. You aint free, you're [we're] basically free range chickens.

Its great, 15 min to the bottom of the mountain and then miles of trails going in all directions for days of fun.

Yea, I was sorely disappointed to learn that there weren't even any "seasonal" roads in southwest Michigan anymore. It seems between legislation and development, open wheeling areas are becoming harder to find.

Nice!

Northern Michigan/UP has some nice trails and seasonal roads. I've been wanting to take a trip up that way for some camping/wheeling. (There's a lot of places on my "off roading bucket list" though. haha). But, it's a bit more than a 15 min drive lol.

Nice video!

right.. Like development of natural land is over the top superior to open land or wilderness. Always comes down to that power of the fiat currency.

One of the things that cracked me up is the randomness of companies that collect or claim to own such natural resources like rocks, unincorporated land, rain water even and lay claim to charge a fee for something they never created or really owned.. Like the claim of power some people say they have over other (wo)men..

Yes, i have authority issues.. lol
