And while were at it and in recognition of the fact that alcohol is far worse on the body and causes far more social problems amongst peole than an age old plant ever has, maybe it's time to slap a 1000% tax on alcohol. No biggie and most people will just payand besides, it's legal so surely it's be safe. Besides, your gov't (FDA, etc etc) would never betray the sheeople, Uncle Sam always has your best interests in at the top of their agenda.
Why not decriminalize the hard stuff? Access to weed would already decrease demand, and the countries that have done it have had pretty good success.

Not to likely the majority would go along with the idea.

So? That doesn't mean it wouldn't work. They already fail to perform the will of the people, so why not do something actually helpful? All it takes is congress not being complete *******es (haha ya I know).

Majority elects who is to represent them in Congress and to represent their views and positions; when the majority is displeased with their job performance, they replace the person with another.

*Mike, in light of the epic train wreck up at Ruby 25 years ago this week and what that ugly chapter in "the book" ultimately ended up being about when the truth finally came out, I'm a tad surprised you haven't said a word. A life sentence that no prison anywhere could ever deliver. Horrible.

So then why do we still have cannabis regulations on the books when 2/3 of the population want it legalized?

Why do we have these guys still in office for 50+ years when their approval ratings are shit?

Because it's all a facade. Those in power remain in power. Every election is predetermined and they couldn't care less about your vote.

Seems to prefer the easy road, vocal complaining. This, as opposed to embracing the courage of conviction, standing up for a cause, personal involvement, working hard to win people over to the ideas, and putting forth hard effort to bring about a change. Something I've done and more than once, and BTW, it IS work, it DOES take time, you WILL be booed, scoffed, flipped off and take heat by opponents (and sometimes it's pretty nasty, get used to it), but if you don't stand up for what you believe in and maintain a (mostly) professional image in representing your cause, then you have no business complaining, you've already lost. Also think (know) that just over 20 years ago, the map in the below link would have been solid grey and today it's not. I call this fact validation that they system is working, maybe not perfect and pleasing to all but it's working, although some people, as expected, are not and will never be satisfied. Can't please everyone. :-/

My goal isn't even to necessarily win, but get enough people on the liberty train to make local changes. Local changes turn into state changes, which turn into national changes, which ultimately leads to the dissolution of the federal government. Or my guy actually pulls a win out of his ass and I was wrong about the futility of our democratic process. Either way the same goal.
