It's carbureted, fuel injected was an option, but when the truck is warm it's normal. Takes a lot longer than it should. And the idle doesn't go down by itself, you have to rev it a few times over like 4 minutes

Sounds like the choke is sticking or is not hooked up properly

Watch some YouTube videos everyone is a pro after a couple :-))

First get some carb cleaner.
Then you can take it off or leave it on
Then spray it down really good while opening and closing the butterfly. spray the linkage down.
While you at it check for broken vacuum lines and if any carb ports or open or if any vacuum plugs have gone bad

Today is my daughter's birthday, she is 16. This is her car now. I cleaned the piss out of it today.
