Default My third gen Camaro

I decided I'd start a thread on this forum to kinda show/chronicle where some of my money is going besides my Ranger, and Guns... lol

Back in July of this year I happened upon a listing on Craigslist for a 1984 Camaro that wasn't running and didn't have a title. I watched the car go down in price from like $700 to $450 before it was announced it'd be taken to a crusher if not sold. I decided to pounce on it and offered a lower end 1911 I had laying around in trade for it. Went out with the pistol and looked at the car. The car is a true survivor car, an older gentleman owned it since new IIRC and had parked it in a field, last tagged date was June of 2001. It had it's original 305 replaced with another 305 sometime in it's life, the rear hatch was also replaced, it's current one is off of a Trans Am and isn't fitted properly as it leaks. The guy that had it received it for work he did IIRC(I've slept between now and then lol).

After looking the car over, the guy looked the pistol over, liked what he saw, I liked what I saw and we traded, he delivered the car to my house as well. It is a Sport Coupe(which is the base model) with T-tops, 305 V8, 700r4 Auto O/D trans, 10 bolt rear end. Interior is GUTTED of everything short of the dash, cluster, shifter, front seats, and shift indicator bezel. There is hardly any rust on it, the only spots I can find are from the hatch not being lined up and letting water in to the rear floor board, and that's just surface.

Not soon after I got it to crank over and run for a minute or so with it's factory Computer Command Control carburetor and distributor. Determined it needed a kit in the CCC Quadrajet so I ordered one and was in the process of rebuilding it when I stripped the fuel filter threads out of the main body of the carburetor. That just expedited the change over from the CCC bullshit to regular stuff.

I rebuilt a distributor I had laying around that needed a new ICM in it, used a cap/coil I had from my old C10 that had a new coil, stabbed the distributor and ran another set of plug wires I had. I bought an Edelbrock adapter to use a Squarebore Holley on the Quadrajet intake and installed a Holley 600cfm 4160 that I kinda knew was gonna need a kit as well and that's where I left off. I'm gonna need to get a kit for the Holley before I can progress further.

As soon as I get it running under it's own power where I can put it on ramps I'm gonna change all the fluids out and then start the lost title paperwork.

I've always wanted one of these cars and consider just about anyone of them that hasn't been chopped up, modified, or otherwise sitting on blocks a survivor, and had always said I was gonna get one. These cars are finally coming up to collector status and some models are going for crazy money!

Future plans for it are:
Built 400 small block
either a 5 speed or 6 speed manual
axle re-gear
bigger wheels and tires, the puny 14's aren't gonna cut it
Body work, I definitely wanna fix the body and re-paint the car.

As you see it in the pics are how I got it, the engine bay I've been told is one of the most complete period ones that's been seen in awhile!

I did some trading a while back, managed to trade off a set of rebuilt TBI Heads and an Edelbrock TBI head Carb manifold for a NIB Victor Jr intake which I haven't decided if I wanna use on the car or not.

Just saw this.. I sold this a few weeks ago. Since I have 2 Rangers, one needing almost a complete front end and rear end overhaul, I decided to let it go and focus my attention on these two.
