Yessir. I'll break the knuckle before you bend this tie rod.

Sounds like it would be easier to rip everything out and start from scratch.

Cut out the old steering shaft (since it was tac welded together) problem is the double D fitting for the upper shaft is too small. Also they drilled a hole all the way through so one of the set screws would have nothing to set against anyway. There is also slack in the upper shaft, so I'm going to call tomorrow and order a new steering column which I believe will accept the yoke already on the shaft.
I was on the edge of swapping it out anyway cause I can't see the gauge worth a crap with the big ass blinker selector from the gm vehicle it came out of and it is ugly so.

New steering column ordered, it takes the bigger u joint as well so I'll just have to send the one I have back anyway. It will be a whole lot cleaner looking. Also takes the same steering wheel adapter I already bought, so I have that going for me.
Also put in hood stops. So no more rattling hood.

Well I feel stupid. Dash lights have been something I've been trying to figure out. Straight forward wiring to them. But I was only getting 1.4 volts to each light. So I backtrack to the switch. I'm getting 4.8 volts at the switch prong. So after messing around with it I'm thinking the switch has gone bad.
Then I read that their is a dimmer switch on old fords and you turn it counter clockwise for full brightness. Fuck me. Go out and sure enough they were just cranked all the way dim. Turn them up, getting 12 volts and test the lights. They work. So they were wired right the whole time lol

Retro Sound direct fit. It is a replica of the oem radio but with all the modern features like Bluetooth/usb/aux/sub etc. The dash was cutout so I had to get a cover. I'm going to paint that orange to help it blend in better.

Nice. I've been wanting something like that for my buick, especially since the dash was never cut up.

Re: 1973 Bronco Build
I like that stereo alot. Modern head units don't really look good in anything much less a steel dash. And way mismatched lights don't look right either to me.

Ok. New column came in. Went from this bulky contraption

To this sleek design.

Now my vision isn't blocked anymore for my gauges and the self canceling turn signals are nice to have back.
That let me get my lower steering shaft put in. It drove a little better but should see a big difference after I put on the tie rod/drag link. Waiting on my new column cover.
Went ahead and got a new column seal while everything was out.
