Has anyone else come across this?

My friend and I got into an argument today. I stated the fact that my truck is going to need front brake pads soon, his reply: "typical ford piece of shit" To which I replied: "so... chevy has unwearable brake pads?" It's comments like this that really annoy me. The area in which I live is full of die-hard chevy people. If you own anything but a chevy, its a piece of shit. No matter what it is. I'm a ford guy, always have been, but Im not afraid or ashamed to admit when I see a nice chevy. But no, the chevy guys around here wont do that, its like blasphemy to them.

About a year ago or so, I was at a wal-mart, in the parking lot getting ready to leave. A lifted silverado owner says to me: "Get a real truck."
So I paused for a moment. got out of my truck, touched it, kicked the tires, listened to the exhaust and I said: " I dunno... seems pretty real to me?" The guy proceeded to give me the stink eye as a did a posi burnout leaving the parking lot.

Theres a local kid around here that has a nova. And he always talks it up about how fast it is. my friend with a '89 5.0 challenged him to a race. He said he didnt want to degrade his car by racing a chevy. My friend said " So... in other words, you dont want to lose to a Ford?"

Does anyone have this problem? Or is annoyed by this?

i do the same thing to my friends who have chevys and they do it to me, but its all just jokes. i really do like one of my buddys truck, silverado z71, but i still jokingly rag on it. it doesnt really bother me, but if some random jack ass said something like that in the walmart parkinglot i would tell him to f*** off

I had a gm before i bought the ranger.

1- Brakes are so shitty, they aren't expected to pass 15 000kms. That includes pads and discs. The dealership thought i was yanking their chain when i said mine lasted just under 23.
2- The "flexible" on those 2.2 ecotecs isn't reliable, cheaply made and in a weird location, it is also expected to rupture quite fast, mine started ripping around 30000kms, if i had waited, i might have lost the whole line and cause good damage.

Of course, that's with canadian driving conditions, have i had been living in cali, the muffler might have laster longer.

I don't know about how the ranger compares, haven't asked about those two points yet.

I should take a picture of my rotor and brake pads that I just replaced on my Chevy, lol.

I'm a Ford guy through and through, but I don't really talk shit about the other brands. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I've driven enough different kinds of vehicles to know what I need from them and that's why I got what I got.

I do poke fun at the Rangers every once in a while, but I do think they are the best looking truck on the road today, lol.

I hate when people do that shit. It's so childish. And that's coming from a kid! I'm not a real big Chevy fan mainly because their fullsize's have IFS and their interior seems a little cheap to me. But if a truck looks nice, it looks nice. I've never understood why people go around bashing other peoples vehicles just because they don't like the make of the vehicle.

Oh I get this everyday. I always think they are joking and start laughing at the bullshit that comes spewing out of their mouths, but they don't crack a smile. I live by the blue oval, but always point out nice trucks like rams and mark lt's and whatnot. When I talk to my buddy with a lifted Ram, I always say how nice it is.. cause it truly is fucking nice, but then he says some douchey comment like "yeah it's not a shitty ford" or something. When people say this I simply say "what makes them so shitty?" and they freeze up 8 out of 10 times. The other 20% say some stupid fact that they believe is true.
Must be something about them chevy's that just goes straight to the brain and sets the ignorant douche gauge to high.
