Nope. The weather before a tornado hits will be no different than the weather before any other big thunderstorm hits. Thunderstorms usually form in two ways. One is at the leading edge of a cold front. In such a storm, the weather would be lovely until the front swoops in, usually very quickly, with a squall line of thunderstorms leading the way. The other way is simple pop-up thunderstorms in the hot summer weather. Convetion builds and builds until it starts to form a thunderstorm and keeps building because hot humid weather is like gasoline. As the buildup gets higher and higher it starts to move with the winds aloft. This happens on nice sunny days and they're isolated. And because of that, the damage from the thunderstorm will also be isolated. You're town could get whalloped while the town next to you is still enjoying a sunny day at the beach.

With that in mind, given enough convection and fuel, any thunderstorm can form a tornado.

yeah it looked like some tiny storm out west. i guess its supposed to grow, but that will be north of us if that hits, and right now lower michigan will get some severe weather shortly. Looks like that might be all for today for me.
