Just Letting Everyone Know!

First I want to say sorry for my absence. My health has gone south on me. The emphysema has gotten worse and today they are setting me up with O2. I don't need it all the time just when I do something physical, like walking! And then after some testing I find out that I have prostate cancer. And the Doctor must have recognized the cancer because the first thing he asked me was "Was I ever exposed to Agent Orange?" Well of course I was! Thought I dodged that bullet but it was just real slow. Already had a bone scan which showed no cancer but did show that I have arthritis in every joint! No wonder I hurt all over. Also had a CT scan done but won't know the results of that until Thursday when we discuss treatment. Hopefully it shows no other organs infected. Anyway, I will be pretty busy with treatment and stuff but will still try to check in now and again.

sorry to hear.... i hope there are ways to fight what is happening and hope you get better.

Strange thing Paul, I just thought about you and where you have been. Man I hope everything turns out good for you and like lots of people in our generation, I don't need to tell you to keep fighting, as I know you will.I'll say a prayer for you, wish you nothing but the best.Bob C.

If you haven't already, get a hold of your local VVA. They can help you get all the services you can through the VA and what not. They will probably get you in contact with a Service Officer. The VFW or American Legion can help too but with the VVA, it's more personal.

Being the child of a Vietnam Vet, I have concerns with Agent Orange myself. No symptoms, just concerns. They have no idea how many generations will be affected by that crap.

Paul, so sorry to hear of your health problems. Last year I had 2 operations due to my prostate. Getting old sucks, keep fighting.

First, Thank You for all the thoughts and prayers. Good news, all scans are clear and show no spread of cancer. Now I will be going to Seattle to the VA center for Radiation Treatment. And yes, I am all over the VA for this crap. Anyway, tired now, Thanks again for the encouragement.

Update. All scans are clear and things look good. I go in on the 3rd of March to have the radiation seeds implanted. Just glad they decided to go with the seeds, much easier on me.

Great news Paul! If Tom would set up a fund raiser through FRF, I could spare $10 to help cover your expenses, for a fellow FRF member. I don't do Facebook or Twitter no nothing about Go-Fund-Me, but hopefully other members would help also, with the extra added cost associated with illnesses.
